What to Know About Kevin Hart’s $250,000 Tasha K Lawsuit

Kevin Hart has filed a lawsuit in response to charges of cheating made by a former assistant during an interview with YouTuber Tasha K. Latasha Kebe, also known as Tasha K, and his former personal assistant, Miesha Shakes, participated in an online interview that was the subject of a complaint filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court and obtained by PEOPLE. Both are listed as defendants in the lawsuit.

Shakes worked for Hart’s company from August 2017 until October 2020, according to the complaint. The interview, which was posted on December 22 on Kebe’s Instagram page and the YouTube channel Unwine with Tasha K, contains claims made by Shakes that Hart, 44, had an affair with her at work. She added that she informed his wife about the comedian’s gambling addiction and that he was unfaithful to her.

According to Hart’s complaint, Kebe intimidated him into paying by threatening to release the shocking interview if he didn’t. The document claims that in November, a person “affiliated with Kebe” contacted a Hart representative and informed them that Hart’s reputation would be damaged by the recorded interview.

“The individual stated that Kebe would publish the interview unless Hart paid a ransom of $250,000.”

According to the lawsuit, Hart called the police and gave Kebe a cease-and-desist order, requesting that she not release the interview. It stated that publishing the interview “would constitute intentional interference with contractual relations” and cited the nondisclosure agreement between Shakes and Hart.
