One of the most popular Netflix series of 2023, One Piece live-action is all ready to advance towards its second season with Emily Rudd, Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Taz Skylar, and Jacob Gibson. Rudd, the actress who plays the role of the navigator of the Straw Hats, Nami will have a special focus on her as the series moves forward.
Rudd’s performance in the first season made her one of the most loved characters from the entire series while amassing a huge fan-following post-release of the live-action. Now fans are ready to see her rock the stage and do justice to the character of Nami just like she did in the previous season of One Piece live-action.
However, while fans wait to watch her in the second season, there is one aspect of her character that has sparked a heated debate among the fans of Rudd and Nami. This debate is regarding the clothing style of the Navigator. Fans have different opinions for Rudd’s clothing in the second season which may become a big issue later.
Nami’s Clothing in One Piece Anime
Nami’s numerous wardrobe changes throughout the series are a major component of who she is. Nami experiences more outfit changes than almost any other member of the Straw Hat Pirates. Nami frequently even changes her attire several times in a single arc.
Her character is enhanced by nearly every item of clothing she wears, but a few particularly stand out from the crowd. In the anime, Nami dresses more subtly at first in the story before changing into increasingly exposed clothing as the adventures go on. Fans also realized that, despite her initial backlash for her attire, it was a common motif in all anime series and had nothing to do with the character.
However, these outfits have caused a problem for the Nami of One Piece live-action, Emily Rudd. As the series is moving towards the next phase, fans are wondering if the clothing would be similar for Rudd as to that of the Nami from anime. This has become a debatable topic and because of this Rudd might be getting some hate.
Emily Rudd’s Wardrobe in One Piece Next Season Sparks A Heated Debate
The Live-action is already confirmed for a second season. And if it goes well enough, it could potentially get anywhere from six to 12 seasons, which means that they would go well into the time skip, which would feature Nami’s attire post-time skip which was quite revealing and flaunting. But to face the facts, Nami’s anime clothing wouldn’t be comfortable for anyone.
This has sparked a debate among fans about whether Rudd would wear the outfits that the original Nami wore in the series or not. Although in the first season, the designer of the series confirmed that the outfits chosen for Rudd had more to do with her “big sister” personality which was more guiding and nurturing, there is no confirmed news about her attire in the second season.
Fans have argued that they want Rudd to wear the same clothes that Nami wore in the series and look just like her, but being a live-action they have to understand that some things need to be done according to the comfort of the series and the actor. Although Rudd has made no comments about it, she will surely do what is right for her and her character.
