Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto features Itachi Uchiha for 24 episodes in the show. However, that does not limit his popularity because the impact he left in those episodes is immaculate. The Uchiha was truly a definition of what a true shinobi should be like, as he willingly showcased himself as a villain and protected the Hidden Leaf Village from the shadows.

The tragic hero put the safety of the village above his own needs, as he murdered his entire clan and if that wasn’t enough, he went on to infiltrate the Akatsuki to provide valuable information. The entire saga made the character so popular that Kishimoto-san is copying the entire arc in Boruto, as he has decided to make the protagonist have the same faith as the ill-fated Uchiha.

New Naruto Theory Suggests Masashi Kishimoto is Setting Up Boruto For a Greater Destiny

As Boruto has yet to catch up to The Two Blue Vortex Saga in its manga, it is safe to say that the story has progressed significantly. If you are a regular reader of the manga, fans would know that a time skip has taken place, where every character has grown up and become stronger. Himawari Uzumaki has also grown up and is training with other shinobis to be an excellent kunoichi.

However, with the way things are progressing, it looks like Masashi Kishimoto is setting up Boruto Uzumaki to be the next Uchiha Itachi. As we all know, Eida has altered people’s memories, where the entire Konoha is under the assumption that both The Hokage and The Byakugan Princess have been murdered by their son, and have gone rogue.

This situation sounds quite similar to Itachi Uchiha who followed the plan of murdering the entire Uchiha clan on the orders of Danzo, as the clan planning a coup d’état against the Hidden Leaf Village. Moreover, both characters were born a prodigy with innate talents and promising futures, but both of them lost it all, and now are wanted criminals.

Ironically, it is unclear if Himawari is training herself to become a kunoichi to meet her duties as a shinobi or if she is training herself to kill her elder brother in an epic battle. The whole situation is much like Sasuke Uchiha, who wanted to kill his elder brother for murdering his parents and brutally massacring the entire Uchiha clan.

Despite everything Boruto has exhibited a profound sense of loyalty and devotion to the Hidden Leaf Village. Both of them put the well-being of the village above their own desires, exemplifying the ethos of an ideal shinobi. Furthermore, Boruto Uzumaki has trained himself for two years to master all the ninjutsu techniques that Sasuke Uchiha has learned over the years. Similarly, he knows his younger sister, Himawari Uzumaki has the highest potential compared to others and wants her to surpass him.

Kishimoto-San Ensured Uchiha Itachi Becomes a Fan-Favorite Character

There is no denying that Uchiha Itachi is a fan-favorite character, who was brilliantly written by Kishimoto-san, who featured him as a mysterious yet intriguing character in the series. From his first appearance in the classic series, fans were hooked on him. The character was depicted as calm and perceptive from a young age. He possessed the wisdom of a Kage at the mere age of seven, which is staggering.

By the time, he was 8 years old, he had great control over his Sharingan, making him strong enough to take down experienced shinobis in battle. But what set him apart was how Kishimoto-san decided to intricately weave the character with a heartbreaking past that gained him immense sympathy from its viewers.

Though he was initially showcased as an antagonist, the audience soon changed their perspective of him, feeling a sense of grief and how the young boy chose his village till he drew his last breath. Such outstanding qualities and character traits make Uchiha Itachi one of the best characters in the series, despite being featured for a limited number of episodes in both series.
