Renner recently shared with the public all the procedures he went through over the past ten months of medication. He stated:
“I have been exploring EVERY type of therapy since Jan 14th. Every day, countless hours of physical therapy, peptide injections, IV drips and pushes, stem cell and exosomes, red light / IR therapy, hyperbaric chamber 2.0 atmospheres, cold plunge, and the list goes on and on.”
But for the actor, his greatest battle lives within his mind and his will to live. Renner felt he needed to “be exceptional” because he thought it was his duty. “Not to squander my life being spared, but to give back to my family, friends, and all of you whom have empowered me to endure,” he added.
In his podcast interview with Diane Sawyer (via Variety), he mentioned he had “eight ribs broken in 14 places. Right knee, right ankle broken, left leg tibia broken, left ankle broken, right clavicle broken, right shoulder broken. Face, eye socket, jaw, mandible broken. Lung collapsed. Pierced from the rib bone, liver.” The actor was conscious pretty much the entire ordeal.

In his interview via CNN, Jeremy Renner said he feels lucky that he is now able to walk freely and live his life as normal as possible. The Hawkeye star said:
“I just feel very blessed and very lucky to be upright and walk around and to live life. I’m very, very clear. My life is really lean, if that makes sense. There’s no fat in my life anymore. I don’t have time for that. So, there’s something really beautiful about having that superpower.”
The accident was a life-changing event for Renner, which made him realize the value of family. He continued:
“I was really clear about how I want to spend my time, and who I want to spend my time with. This to me feels like family, sort of lifestyle things we talk about all the time. And then we have the spirit itself, it’s much more the shared experience. And that, to me, is where I want to spend my time.”
Now that Renner has regained mobility, he reiterates that it is all a “mental game,” and he is very grateful for all the support he has been receiving from fans and friends throughout the year.
