With Helldivers 2, Arrowhead has brought back the faith that gamers were losing in live-service games. The developer has been active ever since the title launched in February, as it constantly listens to player suggestions while also bringing new content to keep its soldiers busy.

Up until now, Helldivers 2 players have been going up against the Terminid and Automaton forces, with occasional encounters with unexpected enemies, but it seems like that’s about to change because the latest stat indicates that Super Earth will need all the support it can get soon.

The Next Faction Is Being Tested in Helldivers 2

Imagine how horrifying the Illuminates would be when the Automatons in Helldivers 2 are already quite deadly.

It has been a while since a live-service game has managed to form such a dedicated community of players, as Helldivers 2 seems to always be in the conversation among gamers these days.

One such committed Helldiver took a look at the latest stats from the galaxy, and everything seemed fine and quite impressive until it took a surprising turn at the end. With a spectacular success rate of 90%, the Helldivers 2 community is going strong in its galactic battles, and it has killed a lot of Terminids and Automatons to get through them, but there’s apparently a new threat to democracy on the horizon.

Right below the numbers that Helldivers 2 players have achieved against the existing enemy factions, it says that the community has killed 28 Illuminates, which took fans by surprise because although this third faction was rumored to be coming to the game soon, it hasn’t been officially introduced yet.

This led to gamers coming up with their own speculations about what Arrowhead could currently be planning as it prepares to unleash the full force of the Illuminate army on Super Earth.

A Helldivers 2 Theory Should Be Taken as a Warning

Will lasers and flamethrowers prove to be enough against the incoming threat in Helldivers 2?

The theory suggests that Arrowhead Game Studios could be testing the new enemy faction in regions that are not yet available to the players, which means that the Illuminates may have already taken over “untested (urban) environments.”

Players have already killed more than 9,384,340,614 Automatons, but what if the Automaton missions are nearing their ultimate end, which could pave a path for the Illuminate armies to “launch a surprise attack directly at Super Earths most crucial planets and Super Earth itself?

For now, out of the 28 Illuminates killed in Helldivers 2, 12 have been found on Cyberstan, but the most worrying bit is that 16 have already made their way onto Super Earth. The community should brace itself for the faction’s official arrival because it feels like there is going to be absolute chaos.
