Helldivers 2 is an ambitious live-service game that is in constant need of oversight from the game developers. It is not easy to work on a multiplayer game, especially with a critical and demanding gaming community breathing down the necks of the developers.
The players are known to be complacent, but with good reason. There is no such thing as a perfect game, but that did not stop Arrowhead Game Studios from trying. It is releasing new patches to improve the game, but it seems like the studio is chewing more than it can chew.
Helldivers 2 Players Are Experiencing a New Issue
It wasn’t long ago when director Johan Pilestedt was hyping up the most recent patch for Helldivers 2 and hinted that it would address certain issues like the efficiency of weapons and the arrival of new and old enemy types. While it did deliver, there are a few things that the developers failed to remedy, and one of them is the constant network issues and crashes.

Losing a match is part of the gaming experience, but there is no way that Arrowhead Game Studios had network crashes and errors in mind. Perhaps the new updates and features were too much to handle, or the player count was too high and could not keep up, forcing the network to crash.
This isn’t the first time the game suffered from server issues, and it will not be the last. The growing popularity of the game will encourage other players to try it, and it will likely be invested and snowball into something larger where the servers cannot handle the updates and the active player count, which is a good indication of being a mainstay for years to come.
Arrowhead Game Studios Needs to Fix This New Helldivers 2 Mess
The gaming community needs to go easy on the developers and understand the gravity of the situation. No matter how hard the developers try, there will always be problems and players need to exercise patience and compassion and give these people all the time they require.
External issues like server crashes can be annoying, but there are others that the developers have failed to address, like the insane amount of throwing knives a player can have on their person. These issues may not be game-breaking, like network or server crashes, but they are still problems that need to be remedied nonetheless.
Perhaps the studio is actively working on a solution to avoid network crashes and will roll it out with a new patch. Regardless, the gaming community needs to measure expectations and realize that these developers are working under a lot of pressure and it would be prudent to not increase their problems by constantly whining at them.
It can be frustrating but it is what it is and the best hand the gaming community has been dealt and it is an unfortunate ordeal. The developers are fueled with passion and will not rest until the game is optimized and in the best condition possible.
