James Gunn reportedly will reveal his Superman Casting near the timeframe of 2023’s San Diego Comic-Con

Although James Gunn is completely occupied by the press tour for his last MCU entry, it seems that not long after he is done with the MCU, we might get to witness some intriguing updates for DCU’s Superman. With Gunn and Safran resolved about bringing the perfect actor for the job, according to reports it appears they’re seeing a window near 2023’s San Diego Comic-Con for the huge announcement.

Justin Kroll of Variety claimed that the duo is reportedly looking at a date near the Comicon event and following recent speculations from Sneider, Harris Dickinson might be one of the frontrunners for the role.

Even though there hasn’t been any official confirmation but considering that Gunn is ferociously going through audition tapes, it’s reasonable that he will choose a major event like Comicon to reveal his plans. Apart from the speculations around the timeframe for the revelation of the Superman casting, Gunn did open up about his criteria to craft the perfect Man of Steel for the new generation.

James Gunn has perfect plans to fulfill Henry Cavill’s shoes as Superman

James Gunn has been pretty outspoken about his love for the character of Superman and how is adamant about doing justice to the character and bringing him back to his original roots. When asked about his viewpoint on the new Superman that will be able to fulfill Henry Cavill‘s shoes, James Gunn explained his criteria for nailing the casting by stating,

“It’s hard, but we’re looking, and we actually have some really great choices, which I’m excited about. It has to be somebody who has all the humanity that Superman has, but he’s also an alien. It’s gotta be somebody who has the kindness and compassion that Superman has. And it has to be somebody that you’d want to give you a hug. You know, all the Supermen have been good, so we just have to add to that story.”
