Several leaks and rumors have surfaced online in the last few months, all indicating that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released sometime in 2024. However, there were reports that the Nintendo Switch 2 has been internally delayed, and the company has briefed developers that the console will only be released by March 2025 at the earliest.
This led to speculation that the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 is still away, but a reputable leaker has now said that Nintendo is planning to reveal the Switch 2 in June this year and also provided information about the Nintendo Direct Showcase for first-party games.
Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal Might Be Coming This June
A few days ago, Brazilian journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe first reported that Nintendo Switch 2 is internally delayed to 2025 and will not be launched in 2024, contrary to what previous leaks indicated. However, it seems like the delay in the release of the console has not affected Nintendo’s plans for the reveal, as Pedro Henrique has now said that it might be coming in June 2024.
The leaker recently said via a Famiboards post that Nintendo has planned to reveal the Nintendo Switch 2 in June 2024, based on what he has heard after the news of the internal delay. He further added that a Nintendo Direct focusing on first-party games is coming in April 2024, but he is not sure if it is a general or a mini-showcase.
This seems to be happening as the recently announced Nintendo Direct will be a Partner Showcase and only show games from publishing and development partners. He also added that an Indie World showcase is also planned before the Nintendo Direct event, and it might take place in or around March. This has fans excited to see what the events might bring.
It’s Not Even Officially Announced and Yet Nintendo Switch 2 Leaks Point to it Being Delayed Already
Moreover, if the April 2024 Nintendo Direct leak turns out to be true, it would be a big change, as the last such showcase took place in 2017. The June 2024 reveal for Nintendo Switch 2 also makes sense, as there will be a difference of about 8 months between the reveal and the potential launch in March 2025.
Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase Is Coming This Week
Nintendo is currently holding a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase for around 25 minutes. The Direct Partner Showcase will be focusing on Nintendo Switch games that will be released for the console in the first half of this year from its third-party publishers and developers.
Despite this event being a Partner Showcase, there might be some exciting announcements coming for the players. The Batman: Arkham Trilogy for Nintendo Switch was announced last year, and there might be more such amazing experiences planned.
Additionally, since this is a third-party game showcase, Xbox’s first-party exclusives coming to the console might also be announced, including rumored titles like Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Stars, and Grounded.
