Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is easily one of the best physiques that the world of entertainment has witnessed. While many actors have bulked up for their roles, Jackman’s dedication has been more remarkable due to his growing age with each successive appearance. Having portrayed the character for more than 20 years now, Jackman looks magnificent in the latest trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, to say the least.

Yet, there have been some trolls who cannot believe that the actor is as jacked as he looks, leading to the impression that he might be wearing fake muscles (!?). Coming to his defense is the Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld, who recently tweeted that the muscles are one hundred percent real and that he had touched them.

Hugh Jackman might have been embarrassed about his body in his first appearance as Wolverine, as he once revealed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. But he sure must be proud of how he looks in the latest trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine.

Although we hardly see his body as we did in his previous appearances in The Wolverine or Logan, fans can catch a good glimpse of his bulked-up arms by the end of the trailer. Still wearing the iconic yellow suit, just without sleeves, Jackman looks as fierce as ever.

Having taken inspiration from his Logan training and taking 8,000 calories for over a year (see GQ) and spending several hours in the gym, the actor’s prep seems to have finally paid off. Yet some have been doubting the actor’s dedication to the role, insisting he might have taken steroids or is wearing fake muscles in the movie.

Defending the actor, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld, recently tweeted:

While a quick glance at Hugh Jackman’s Instagram profile would to any hater that the actor did in fact bulk up for real, it was admirable for Liefeld to stand up for Jackman and defend him from the trolls. And as his tweet went viral, even fans of the actor could not believe that there are people doubting Jackman’s dedication towards Wolverine.

Hugh Jackman might not have had an incredible, swoon-worthy physique during his first Wolverine outing, but he has since done a magnificent job of building up one hell of a physique even though bulking up has definitely taken a toll on his body.

Even while he was shooting his apparently last Wolverine outing (aka Logan), the actor had revealed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert how he was doing the dangerous dehydration regime to achieve a more leaner and vascular look during his shirtless scenes.

And so as the Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld jumped to defend the actor, fans of the actor also chimed in.

While the trolls and naysayers continue speculating, Jackman is busy proving that age is just a number when it comes to fitness. And fans cannot contain their excitement for what a treat Deadpool & Wolverine is going to be.

Deadpool & Wolverine will be in theatres on July 26, 2024.
