Although most of these characters won’t stand a chance against the newfound powers of Jinwoo, there is one character who may be capable enough to go up against him. Sung Jinwoo’s Father Sung Il-Hwan is Extremely Powerful

The father of Jinwoo is a Hunter named Sung Il-Hwan, who spent ten years imprisoned in a dungeon. He never received official public recognition because the ranking system was created after his disappearance. II-Hwan was a ruler’s vessel, and he was one of the world’s most powerful hunters and he has proved his worth multiple times in the story.

He returned in the 56th chapter of Solo Leveling. Given his achievements in the manhwa, it is apparent that he outperforms all hunters in Solo Leveling except Sung Jinwoo in terms of power. Many believed that if given the chance, II-Hwan could have become a National Level Hunter who is even above the S-Rank in Solo Leveling.

Although he is absent from the first half of the story, II-Hwan later becomes a major part of the story. Not only does he reunite with his family and his son, Sung Jinwoo, but he even helps him during his fights proving his strength as the father of the protagonist.

Sung II-Hwan Will Make a Huge Impact on the Story of Solo Leveling

Il-Hwan worked as a firefighter when he was younger and later wed Park Kyung-Hye. They had two children named Sung Jinwoo and Sun Jinah. Il-Hwan gave up his work as a firefighter to pursue a career in hunting after the existence of magic creatures was uncovered. He eventually became one of Korea’s first S-Rank Hunters.

However, during a raid, II-Hwan became trapped inside a dungeon, leading his family to assume he was dead. As he was imprisoned, the Rulers gave him their power and gave him the task of killing the new Shadow Monarch who turned out to be his son, Sung Jinwoo. However, his job eventually shifts from killing the Shadow Monarch to protecting him.

Jinwoo’s father is one of the most powerful S-rank hunters, who was able to combat and repel the Beast and Frost monarchs using the rulers’ powers on his own. He is going to have a huge impact in the later part of Solo Leveling’s story as fans will get to see what he is actually capable of.
