The 81-year-old leader and current President of the United States of America, has suffered several downfalls in recent years. From his many verbal slip-ups, which include infamously calling himself the first Black woman to serve with a Black president (via The Guardian), to recently making a disastrous mistake during a NATO speech (see Daily Mail), the President has been surrounded by a storm of controversy.
As various dignitaries and prominent politicians and more call for Biden to step down from the Presidential race, given doubts about his neurological health and rumors of Parkinson’s (see Daily Mail), Hollywood star George Clooney too has joined in to ask Biden to step down from the Presidential race.
In a New York Times op-ed, Clooney stated,
I love Joe Biden. As a senator. As a vice president and as president… But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can… We are not going to win in November with this president.
Clooney then revealed how the man he met at the fundraiser was not the same man he knew. The actor then continued on by stating how important it is for Joe Biden to step down, before ending the piece by remarking that Biden is a hero and his stepping down will save democracy.
