With Berry in the lead role, there was a scene that became notoriously famous for showcasing Berry in her lingerie. During the release of the film, there were even rumors that the John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum actress was paid extra for the lingerie scene. In an interview, Halle Berry talked about the issue at hand and plainly stated that it was supposed to be a metaphor for how her character was the only one in charge of herself and no one else.

“I did the scene because it showed you that the character was in control of her sexuality and very comfortable with herself. The challenge for me was to pull it off and not just sit there naked and looking scared to death like I initially felt.”

Although Berry had not found confidence in herself and her body before, it was actually veteran actor John Travolta, who walked on the sets of Swordfish one day and accidentally complimented the actress.

In the end, the Hugh Jackman and John Travolta starrer eventually failed at the global box office as Swordfish earned a meager $147 million. The movie received a rating of 6.5/10 on IMDB but a record low of 26% on Rotten Tomatoes.
