Invincible Season 2 introduced us to Omni-Man’s other family, the Thraxan woman Andressa, and her child with Nolan, who will be later named Oliver. Oliver, despite having an insectoid alien heritage, looks more like a purple human infant, indicating the strong Viltrumite genes that the child has inherited from Nolan Grayson.

We all know that Mark Grayson’s DNA is almost pure Viltrumite, as stated by Nolan Grayson right before their fight in the Season 1 finale. It is safe to assume that Oliver would develop powers similar to Mark as well, given how strong Vilturmite’s genetics are. While Nolan’s new family could be an indication of the Viltrumite’s change of heart, a theory suggests that Nolan’s progeny could be a part of a more sinister plan on the Viltrumite’s part.

Nolan could be raising a personal army to rebel against Viltrum

Invincible has diverged from the comics in many key ways, chief among which is the survival of Shrinking Rae. Further, the show has also gender-bent and race-bent characters and changes the order in which some plotlines take place. It is not without the realm of possibility that the plot of the show might deviate from the comics quite a bit, which is not necessarily a downgrade.

Omni-Man might be well on his way to becoming a full-on rebel, as opposed to what he did in the comics. It is completely possible that Mark might be in for some more surprises, meeting a slew of other kids that Omni-Man has sired, in an effort to build a personal army, to take on the might of the Vitrumite empire.

Omni-Man has been alive for thousands of years, and the show is prone to making revisions to the storyline to make it make more sense in the grand scheme of things. It is nigh impossible that Mark is the first child Omni-Man has had in his entire life, given how long he has lived. It is also possible that Omni-Man is secretly amassing an army of his powerful offsprings, in an effort to take over the Viltrumite Empire.

This is further corroborated by the fact that Oliver and Mark are the only Viltrumite hybrids we have seen in the show so far, and other Viltrumites don’t seem very keen on producing offspring outside of their race. Nolan’s rebellious streak has also found precedent in the books he wrote, which allegedly include a secret to taking down Viltrumites.

Nolan could have sired a child on each world he conquered

Nolan has been repeatedly called one of the strongest Viltrumites in the empire. Nolan was one of the lucky few who was selected to weaken a planet all on his own. He has been conquering worlds for thousands of years, and it is possible that he was assisted by his own children. We know for a fact that the Viltrumite empire employs aliens in their prisons, who could only be effective against Viltrumite prisoners if they had Viltrumite blood in them.

It is, therefore, completely possible that Viltrumites actively engage in producing hybrids, given that they have laws that are mentioned in the show about having children with other species. Nolan’s personal army could be a slew of his children, whose abilities are mitigated by their heritage somehow, which would make them formidable against a Viltrumite army. This also allows the show to stay closer to its themes of fatherhood for the seasons to come, something that got slightly sidestepped in the comics as the show went on.
