Even in the aforementioned franchise, the character of Hans Solo played an irreplaceable role in the narrative of the main trilogy. But with his portrayal of the character, people also witnessed an error during The Empire Strikes Back, wherein one frame, we can see Solo wearing his black vest, but in the frame after it, it disappears without explanation.

Being such a vast and seemingly never-ending string of tales and stories, it’s easy for even the most seasoned of Star Wars aficionados to keep track of everything that happens in the foreground or the background of the franchise. But where they do keep their eyes peeled for is the main timeline with all the major motion picture trilogies to find something missing.

Although the franchise has managed to keep every major plot point and narrative flawless, the little things that are often dismissable are the ones that suffer from inconsistencies. This time, it was with Harrison Ford’s outfit as Hans Solo.

In the second film of the original trilogy Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, eagle-eyed fans noticed that just when Solo is about to be lowered into the tank where The Empire planned to freeze him in carbonite for the rest of eternity, the star is wearing his signature black vest. But this vest shouldn’t have been in the frame as he had taken it off before the freezing would commence.

Thus, the existence of the vest, which is visible in one frame but missing in the rest created a continuity error for the film. This was, however, corrected in the HD Remastered Version through CGI. Thus, it became one of the most famous inconsistencies in a major motion picture to date with the success of the franchise.

One of the most crucial reasons why this franchise has stood the test of time is because this was one of the most ambitious and visionary cinematic endeavors in history.

Right from the first film, the idea to show the conclusion before the origin story was a master stroke by George Lucas to attract an audience. From there, he focused on building an entire universe filled with stories that fans would love to watch, hence the demand. Thus, with almost half a century of films, TV and Radio shows, and visual novels, the cinematic universe became part of the world as a separate culture entirely.
