WWE 2K24 is set to launch in just a couple of weeks now, and we are getting to know some very important details. One of the most awaited aspects of every WWE game is the character roster and the variations available to each wrestler.
It’s always fun to see the creativity implemented in entirely new designs, or how the game devs are paying homage to classic looks and outfits used in the WWE. Over the weekend, we got a glimpse of another WWE superstar’s in-game variant, and it will catch some eyes.
Cody Rhodes is Taking on a New Look in WWE 2K24
A video clip uploaded to X by user @ItsMachoT shows that Cody Rhodes will be getting a look that resembles his action figure. The American Nightmare’s toy-like look features his WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 outfit, including his pectoral injury. This is a reference to his iconic Hell in a Cell match against Seth Rollins in which he entered with the injury and came out the victor.
Action Figure Cody Rhodes actually looks INSANE! Playable everywhere too! 👏#WWE2K24 pic.twitter.com/MvMovcIByN

The figure is from the WWE Mattel Elite: Defining Moments set of action figures. The user also mentioned that this character model will be open for use in any game mode. This skin is going to be part of the pre-order bonus for the standard edition, and part of the “Nightmare Family Pack”.
The pack also contains another two playable versions of The American Nightmare: The “Undashing” masked Cody and Stardust. There is also the 1976 version of “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes and “Superstar” Billy Graham. So, the WWE 2K24 roster is going to have quite a bit of variation!
The pre-order bonus pack will also include the MyFaction cards of a Mattel “Bruised” Cody Rhodes Gold Rarity card, and Cody’s dog, Pharaoh, will also appear as a WWE 2K Gold Rarity Manager Card.
Cody Rhodes is Being Given a Lot of Focus for the New Game
Along with the fun new skin variations, Codey Rhodes is also a cover star for WWE 2K24. Rhodes has gone on to say that he does not want to be featured in WWE 2K24 if he is not able to become a WWE World Champion.
WWE games are no strangers to weird and out-of-the-box skins for players. AJ Styles, the cover star for WWE 2K19, was given an entirely gold look in the game. The skin could be unlocked by completing the million-dollar challenge in the game’s tower mode.
The devs have also taken it upon themselves to include characters from entirely different franchises and areas. Over the years, we have seen the inclusion of personalities such as Fred Durst, the lead singer of Limp Bizkit, Turok, the dinosaur-killing commando, and The Terminator as well. They even turned a few of the wrestlers into zombies, green skin and all, in Smackdown Vs. Raw 2009.
With Cody Rhodes getting the action figure treatment, what other types of skins would you like to see in the game? Let us know in the comments below.
