Marvel fans, prepare to have your minds blown! One of the most intriguing unanswered questions from the Eternals is reportedly set to be addressed in the upcoming Captain America 4, starring Anthony Mackie as the new Sentinel of Liberty.
While details surrounding the plot of Captain America 4 are still under wraps, reports suggest that the film will delve deeper into the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This exploration could very well lead our new captain to confront the enigmatic statue, potentially unearthing its origins and purpose.

Eternals Statue Mystery Reportedly to be Unraveled in Captain America 4
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has consistently maintained a tightly interconnected narrative, where major events from one project often have repercussions in others. Remember that giant Celestial poking out of the ocean after the Eternals showdown? It’s been hanging there for over two years now, leaving fans scratching their heads about why nobody seems to care.
Initially, there was speculation that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever would delve into the aftermath of Eternals, especially given Namor’s involvement and his underwater kingdom of Talokan. However, those expectations were not met, leading to the current speculation that an upcoming film in MCU Phase 5 might finally explore the consequences of Tiamut’s demise.
According to insider DanielRPK, who shared the information on his Patreon, Captain America: Brave New World is slated to be the first to address the unresolved plotline from Eternals. The sequel is purportedly centered around an international conflict arising over the discovery of Adamantium, a metal related to the X-Men, on Tiamut, now transformed into an island. As countries vie for control of the valuable Adamantium resource, tensions escalate, forming the crux of the movie’s plot.
Captain America: Brave New World‘s Plot and Cast
Marvel has been tight-lipped about specific details regarding the film, leaving fans with little information to decipher. The title of the movie currently stands as the most significant hint regarding its plot, drawing parallels to both the central conflict explored in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and Aldous Huxley’s dystopian masterpiece. While Marvel executives have refrained from revealing substantial details, they have provided some tantalizing hints, akin to leaving breadcrumbs for eager fans to follow.
Nate Moore, VP of Production & Development at Marvel Studios, in an interview with Collider, said:
“Well, look, Sam Wilson’s Captain America, he is going to bring his own team to play. It’s no secret that Samuel Sterns is making his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is fantastic because Tim Blake Nelson’s the best. Harrison Ford is taking on the role of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, and to see Sam Wilson and Thunderbolt Ross, which if you remember actually threw him in prison at the end of Civil War because he violated the Sokovia Accords. There’s going to be some natural sparks there, which I think are going to be really fun.”
Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford are not the only familiar faces returning for Captain America: Brave New World. Carl Lumbly, from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, will reprise his role in the film as Isaiah Bradley, alongside Danny Ramirez returning as Joaquin Torres.
Notably, Liv Tyler will make a return to the MCU after an extended absence, reprising her role as Betty Ross, a character she originally portrayed in The Incredible Hulk.
Mark your calendars, as Captain America: Brave New World is set to hit theaters on February 14, 2025.
