The island of Laughtale has been one of the biggest mysteries in One Piece. There have been fan theories upon fan theories just to explain the reason behind its existence. Of course, Gol D. Roger’s reaction after reaching the place has been the centre of attention.
Why did the Pirate King laught at the place? What is the treasure and why is it funny? All of these questions are yet to be answer, but one fan theory tries to debunk everything and interlinks the poneglyphs with Laughtale and everything in between.

Queen Nefertari D. Lili Had the Same Devil Fruit as Kuma

According to Imu, Queen Lily was the one who had scattered the poneglyphs all over the world. This took place around 800 years before the current storyline. But how was the Queen able to do something so grand whilst evading the watchful eyes of the World Government?
A fan theory suggests that Queen Nefertari D. Lili actually had the same Devil Fruit that Kuma possesses. This is one of the only abilities that can do the job at a search notice with the least amount of risks undertaken. If Lili had to scatter such huge and hefty objects around the world then the Paw Paw fruit could have been useful to her. In fact, she could have scattered the Ponegyphs in the same way that Kuma separated the Straw Hat crew in the manga.
What if Queen Lili was a better Devil Fruit user than Kuma? She might have discovered more abilities, thus leading to the mysteries surrounding the Laughtake Island.
What if Laughtale Contains the Presence of the Original Joy Boy in One Piece?
![Bartholomew Kuma](https://fwmedia.fandomwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/16154139/IMG_0042-1024x614.jpeg)
The extent of Kuma’s ability has been explained by Vegapunk. He explained that Kuma’s power could take an intangible pain and give it physical form, and Kuma can not only do this on his own body but to others. From here, the scientist wanted to research if Kuma could give physical forms to memories, mass and volume as well.
Now let’s consider that the Paw Paw fruit can actually help Kuma preserve memories. If Lili had the same powers then she too must have been able to do the same.
The theory thus suggests that since Lili and Joy Boy existed during the same timeline, that is 800 years ago, Lili might have recognized that the rebel was right, and scattered the poneglyphs for him. Furthermore, on Joy Boy’s death, Lili might have preserved his memories on Laugh Tale. This would explain why Roger was so amused on reaching the island. Joy Boy’s memories must have been one heck of a ride even for the Pirate King.

It can also be assumed that the memories were preserved on the island for so long because Lili had used the extremely sophisticated technology that was available in the ancient kingdom. This leads to the conjecture that the treasure in Laugh Tale could be the memories of Joy Boy.
