The Straw Hat Pirates are currently facing their most difficult enemy at the Egghead Island in One Piece. They are currently fighting the Five Elders, The Navy, and even some individuals from the World Government. Although the crew has become quite strong since the Wano arc, they might not be strong enough to fight such powerful opponents.

The giants from Elbaf have come to the rescue of Luffy and his crewmates, but the recent events in the manga chapter indicate that they might need more than that in the future as the series has entered its final saga. Therefore there is a very good chance that Eiichiro Oda might introduce a strong character who might be joining the crew in the future.

The most potential candidate for this role is Yamato, whom the Straw Hats met in Wano. Her ties with Ace, Luffy’s elder brother, and her powers make her the best character for the role. Also, she is the only character in the story right now, who is capable of awakening her Devil Fruit, according to one theory.

Yamato’s Devil Fruit Power Might Help The Straw Hat Pirates

Yamato is an ally of Wano Country and the daughter of Kaido. Yamato became friends with Portgas D. Ace during his journey to Wano Country, and after learning of Ace’s death, she waited for his sworn brother, Monkey D. Luffy, to arrive. Yamato initially wanted to join Luffy’s crew, but ultimately elected to stay behind in Wano to help protect it from foreign forces, but she still wanted to join them in the future.

After eating the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami, a legendary zone-style Devil Fruit, Yamato gained the ability to change into both a human-divine wolf hybrid and a divine wolf. Kaido characterizes this beast as a “Guardian Deity of Wano Country”. This fruit grants extraordinary abilities that a normal wolf is not capable of since it is a Mythical Zoan.

Yamato possesses the ability to create ice, which she uses to improve weaponry, fortify walls or armor, and even unleash a strong blast of ice with a single breath. A theory states that her Devil Fruit is the only one capable of an awakening and it will surely help the Straw Hats in the future in their adventure.

Theory Suggests Yamato’s Devil Fruit is the Only One With a Realistic Chance to Awaken

According to a theory posted by CBR, Yamato’s Devil fruit might undergo an awakening which will result in him gaining extreme powers. Zoan-type Devil Fruits are often highly powerful, with their primary impact being increased physical characteristics for their owner. The same is true with Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruits.

However, these Devil Fruits are far more potent than their non-mythical counterparts since they grant their bearer a unique set of skills in addition to significant increases in strength and speed. And, because Yamato may join the Straw Hats in the future, she will undoubtedly receive a power increase that will benefit the crew.

As Yamato is one of the most powerful characters that the Straw Hats have met, her getting an awakening and joining the crew will surely increase the overall power of the Straw Hat Pirates as a crew. They will be a much bigger threat to their opponents in the upcoming arcs of the final saga of One Piece.
