Ever since Dr. Vegapunk announced that the One Piece world is going to sink into the sea, Luffy’s job has become even tougher than before. He not only has to find the One Piece treasure and become the Pirate King but also has to save the world as he is the protagonist of the series. But as a Devil Fruit user, he cannot even go near the sea.

As of right now, Luffy’s power is not strong enough to stop such a catastrophic event, and evidently, he will require the help of other characters who could work on such a big scale. However, the only character who could help Luffy save the world is the most unhinged villain of One Piece, Marshall D. Teach, popularly known as Blackbeard.

According to a One Piece theory, Blackbeard’s Dark Dark Fruit has a mysterious power that will allow him to stop the world from sinking and save it, but he won’t obviously do it for the greater good. He will potentially have an ulterior motive for this noble act too.

Theory Reveals Luffy Will Accelerate Sinking of the World

Anicast English on YouTube recently posted a video explaining how the sinking of the world will begin and what role Blackbeard will play in it. According to the YouTuber, the sinking of the world is connected to Shyarly’s prophecy about Luffy destroying Fish-Man Island. During the Fish-Man island arc, Shyarly predicted that a man in Straw Hat would destroy their home.

If this prediction comes true, Luffy’s destruction of Fish-Man Island will also cause the destruction of the Red Line or at least a part of the Red Line as the Fish-Man Island is directly below the Red Line. This could lead to the water level rising at an even faster rate than before, thus drowning the world.

Therefore, there is a very good chance that Luffy, instead of saving the world from sinking, could very well be the reason behind it. However, all of it only depends on whether Shyarly’s prediction about Luffy demolishing Fish-Man Island comes true or not.

Blackbeard’s Dark Dark Fruit Could Save The World

If the theory holds any credence and Luffy becomes the one to sink the world, the only person who could help him avoid this would be Blackbeard. Blackbeard’s Dark Dark Fruit has the ability to swallow everything, even the rubble from the destruction of the Red Line. This ability is called Black Hole.

He first used it in front of Ace when he almost swallowed an entire island during their battle. Thus, it can be stated that Blackbeard’s black hole could be the ability that saves the world from drowning because of the Red Line’s destruction. However, looking at Blackbeard’s past experiences and his personality, it might not be as easy as it sounds.

Blackbeard wants the world for himself, just like Rocks D. Xebec did. However, no one knows how he is going to achieve his dream. Thus, it all depends upon him whether he decides to save the world or not. It seems unlikely, but there have been theories about Luffy and Blackbeard forming an alliance together to take down the World Government.
