The Night 2 of the Showcase of the Immortals was WWE’s answer to Avengers: Endgame, which saw new and old WWE icons joining forces to even the odds against the Bloodline. While appearances from John Cena, Jey Uso, and Seth Rollins were somewhat expected, not many expected The Undertaker to return and ruin Dwayne Johnson’s party.

Following Dwayne Johnson and Roman Reigns’ win against Rollins and Rhodes the night prior, the Bloodline rules stipulation for the main event of Night 2 became a honeypot for major appearances. While fans lost their mind after seeing John Cena and the Black Adam star going face to face once again, no one saw The Undertaker‘s return coming, who spoiled the party for the Final Boss.

Johnson, who has a history with the Deadman following his days in the Attitude Era, took to IG to share that The Undertaker sure knows how to ruin a party, stating payback will be a b-tch for him.

The caption read:

“The guy sure knows how to ruin a party. I’ll see you down the road, my friend. Paybacks a bitch for you – but fun for me.”

From his statement, it can be speculated that the actor might not be done with the WWE, and we might see the Brahman Bull return to settle scores in the squared circle in the future.

The Undertaker Explained How His WM Return Was Finalized

WWE’s plan to incorporate the Deadman into the mix was finalized just hours before the main event between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.

Elaborating on his return, he explained that while Triple H contacted him about a potential WM appearance days before the two-night extravaganza, the Deadman said, “the plans were locked about a quarter-way into the night two festivities.”

Speaking on his Six Feet Under podcast, he recalled:

“It happened pretty spontaneously. We got to Philadelphia on Wednesday that week. I think I got a call Tuesday from Triple H. Hey, a lot of things are going on. A lot of thoughts are being put into this. Would you want to be a part of it?’ I was like, ‘Look if it works and if I can be of help to it in any way. If I could be of help, fine, whatever you guys need. Just let me know.’ [Triple H told me], ‘Okay, we don’t have anything yet, we’re just putting ideas together… I get a text during Sunday, and that’s when you see me get up [from the seat]. At that point, I knew there was a good chance, but it still was [not fully solidified], and that’s [when I knew] ‘Okay, oh, I got to go.'”

Moreover, The Undertaker didn’t want his return to overshadow the main event itself, and with the final result, he finally got closure from being part of WrestleMania one more time.
