PlayStation has been on a roll this console generation and released back-to-back bangers with first-party exclusives and upgraded hardware. It is also rumored that this month will feature an upcoming PlayStation Showcase that might injure the ego of Microsoft and Xbox even more.
Events and showcases are always exciting for the gaming community. These shows allow developers to reveal more details about their work and shed new light for fans to look forward to in the future. Xbox is already losing and this event could be another slap to the face.
Rumored PlayStation Showcase Will Raise Some Eyebrows
Insiders are often accurate in terms of releasing certain information ahead of time before an official announcement, however, it is wise to take these reports with a grain of salt. With that warning, several insiders have earned some credibility with accurate reports, and rumors are now circling about an upcoming PlayStation Showcase in May.

It wasn’t long ago when the gaming community put up a wishlist of video games they wanted to see in the next Showcase. Details like the set list of video games are being kept close to the chest by those who are privy to sensitive information. Based on the tone of X user Balatro Nick, it would seem this month’s showcase could potentially be a State of Play, but one thing is for sure, it will attract the eyes of the whole gaming community.
May Is an Exciting Month for PlayStation Fans
As the PlayStation 5 is entering the latter stage of the console life cycle, there is a slim chance for a reveal of an upgraded or a Pro version which was said to be the biggest technical leap from a base model ever. Showcases primarily focus on upcoming games and expansions, but Sony could pull off a massive reveal at the tail end.
Fans are hoping the rumored Showcase will feature high-profile games that are highly anticipated like a gameplay demo for Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and a reveal of Sucker Punch Production’s rumored Ghost of Tsushima sequel. There is also a possibility for ports of indie games on the PS5, given the massive surge of interest from recent data.
That said, all bets are off until Sony gives an official announcement. While we have solid information from trusted insiders, it is good practice to manage expectations to avoid being disappointed if the rumors are not true.
