As luck would have it, a spinoff of the game is headed for its imminent release, and the studio can do nothing about it.
Titled Nightmare Kart, the spinoff title is scheduled to be released on 31st May and holds just enough distinction from Hidetaka Miyazaki’s title not to face any legal action. The game will also be free to play and will be made available on Steam, which is another factor why fans look forward to enjoying the title for themselves.
Why Nightmare Kart Is Out Of Trouble And Bad News For Diehard Bloodborne Fans
For those who might not know, the project was earlier named “Bloodborne Kart“. This title was soon unfortunately shot down by Sony, prompting the creators to come up with another title that would save them from legal trouble. The game also features a different graphic template than the original game, which would help it steer clear from any lawsuits headed its way.
While much of the player base now prefers to stay away from the topic of console wars and platform exclusivity, there will be without a doubt a trivial amount of players that might show upset for another game copying elements from Hidetaka Miyazaki’s title.
More details about the title were announced by the creator on their official Twitter handle. The post went over how the game will feature a full campaign mode with boss fights, along with various maps and racers to play with.
It might as well also be called a fest season for fans of the franchise as while there might not be a single official announcement for an upcoming sequel or remake, the fans are not only getting an unofficial spin-off, but also a live-action remake of Bloodborne, which will be released soon.
