PlayStation Plus Extra offers a variety of experiences for new and old PlayStation gamers as part of its subscription plans. October is looking to be an exciting month, as some incredible games are making their way into the collection. As it happens, a rumour about The Last of Us Part II being part of the collection is confirmed not to be true. However, these new games still make up for some great experiences to be had.
These games will mostly be announced around 4:30 PM (UTC) on October 11.
On a similar note, last month, PlayStation Plus Premium added a catalogue of films produced by Sony Pictures Entertainment. These include around a hundred films and can be accessed through the Sony Pictures Core app on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
All Games Coming to Playstation Plus Extra in October
According to Dealabs, the first game coming to PlayStation Plus Extra this month is Gotham Knights, an RPG-action experience that thrives on the narrative of the Batman family. The game is published by Warner Bros. Games and developed by Warner Bros. Games Montreal. The gameplay focuses on establishing Batman’s legacy after his imminent demise, as the Bat family discovers new ways to restore justice and fight familiar antiheroes in Gotham.
Players can take on the roles of Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, and Red Hood. While the gameplay isn’t exactly like the Arkham games, a focus on co-op and RPG elements gives it an edge over older Batman games.

The next game in line is The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes. Developed by Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco, House of Ashes follows an interactive model of storytelling, focusing on dialogue options and changes in story sequences based on how the player reacts. The game brings players closer to the conclusion of a war, drawing a narrative based on weapons of mass destruction and a Sumerian temple filled with mysterious beings.
The survival horror game is for anyone who’s a fan of cinematic elements and story-driven gameplay that is unique to each player’s individual experience.
The third big entry on the list is Disco Elysium: The Final Cut. The contemporary detective game made its humble abode in the hearts of millions of players when it first launched on PC back in 2021. The finest version of the game, The Final Cut, was later released for consoles as well as PCs.
Made and published by ZA/UM Studio, Disco Elysium immerses the player into an eerie narrative where the protagonist can communicate with various parts of his psyche, which helps him solve cases. Based on the gameplay, the player will have a personalised experience that ties in directly with the highly engaging story and environment.

FAR: Changing Tides is another immersive title coming to the list. The game was developed by Okomotive and published by Frontier Foundry. This is a unique title on the list, as it’s a meditative link between the player’s experience and the philosophy of loneliness. Gracefully, this link is tied to a ship that’s captained by the player.
FAR: Changing Tides takes players on a deep dive into the ocean’s most treasured (and feared) secrets as they explore uncharted territories and puzzle-solve in-game terrains and depths that have never been braved before.
As part of the subscription, players can also enjoy titles like Dead Island Definitive Edition, Gungrave GORE, Alien Isolation, and Elite Dangerous. It’s certainly a month of terror and eerie jumpscares, and PlayStation fans can have access to some of the finest games in the survival-horror genre of interactive experiences.
If you’re a part of the PlayStation Plus Essential subscription, you can enjoy games like The Callisto Protocol and Weird West.
