In 1970, Schwarzenegger and Oliva came head to head again for the year’s Mr. Olympia championship. This time, Schwarzenegger employed a psychological trick on Oliva which made him doubt his showmanship and physical attributes. The trick worked as Oliva became insecure and walked off the stage in the middle of their presentation. Schwarzenegger recalled the situation saying, (via YouTube)

“We were doing pose off after pose off, and then I said to him I think it’s enough. I think they must know by now, who is going to be the winner, and he says you’re right. And then he walked off and then pointed at him like he’s giving up.”

Schwarzenegger began his winning streak as he won the Mr. Olympia title consecutively for six years from 1970-75. His seventh and final Mr. Olympia win was in 1980. He considers Oliva as his greatest rival and a giant inspiration at the same time. His 1969 defeat led him to push himself to a great extent which paid off in 1970.

Hollywood has just come out of the dual strikes where one of the mandates that the writers and actors were fighting for was the limitation of AI in the workspace and not letting them take over someone else’s work. Technology and AI are now having an eerily dominant presence in the world and director James Cameron seems to have accurately hinted at this in his Terminator films.

The franchise’s lead actor Arnold Schwarzenegger pointed out the relatability and the relevance of the film’s themes in today’s time. He stated that the fantastical nature of the film is now slowly becoming a reality and praised Cameron’s brilliant writing and intuition. He said, (via People)

“Today, everyone is frightened of it, of where this is gonna go. And in this movie, in Terminator, we talk about the machines becoming self-aware and they take over. Now over the course of decades, it has become a reality. So it’s not any more fantasy or kind of futuristic. It is here today. And so this is the extraordinary writing of Jim Cameron,”

Schwarzenegger was most recently seen in the hit Netful action comedy series FUBAR, which has been renewed for a second season. On the film side, he is set to star in the action-thriller Breakout directed by Scott Waugh.
