Clancy Brown has never failed to prove his versatility as an actor and a voice-over artist. His career not only revolves around the roles he plays but also his voice-over skills. Besides acting, Brown has practiced a career as a voice actor for many animated shows. Although he gave his voice to several animated characters, one of his iconic performances as a voice actor will always be Mr. Krabs from SpongeBob Square Pants.

Clancy Brown has voiced in several animated series like Invincible, Rick and Morty, and DuckTales. In many other DC Comics projects, he gave his voice to Lex Luthor in the DC Animated Universe (1996–2006). He first voiced Luthor in the DC Animated Universe (DCAU), starting with Superman: The Animated Series (where he had originally auditioned for the role of Superman) and reprised his role in the subsequent animated series Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.

In live-action films, Clancy Brown played parts in many live-action films such as The Shawshank Redemption and Starship Troopers. He also appeared on TV series like Lost and Billions. Within his wide range of roles, there are a few remarkable performances that deserve recognition.

1.  Ahsoka

The first two episodes of Ahsoka are currently streaming on Disney+ where Clancy Brown is playing the role of Governor Ryder Azadi, a role he also voiced in Star Wars Rebels. In Ahsoka, Governor Azadi is depicted attending a party celebrating the Rebels’ triumph at the Battle of Lothal, which took place in Star Wars Rebels. When he goes to introduce Sabine to the audience, she is not present. Azadi served as Governor during the time of Star Wars Rebels until being captured by the Empire. He ultimately managed to get away and join the Rebels in their struggle to release Lothal. When they won, he returned to his role as governor.

2. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

Clancy Brown played the role of Captain Hadley, a cruel prison officer who ended up protecting the innocent banker Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins). The Shawshank Redemption is an American prison drama based on the 1982 Stephen King novella, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption.
In the film, Andy Dufresne is a man who, despite claiming his innocence, was given a life sentence in jail in 1947. He develops a connection with lifelong prisoner Red (Morgan Freeman) struggling with the incompetent warden and guards in charge of the facility. Depicts the hope to search for light even being surrounded with darkness.

3. Bad Boys (1983)

Bad Boys is an American crime drama filmed in a Juvenile Detention Center. Clancy Brown portrayed the character of one of the main characters Viking Lofgren in the film. The story lies at the Rainford Juvenile Correctional Facility, Viking Lofgren and fellow prisoner Tweety are the “barn boss” and are in charge of a portion of “Dorm C.” They also participate in a 60/40 split of the cigarette business with two other prisoners, Perretti and Ricky Lee.

When Eiling was under Grodd’s control, Joe West also called him Goldfinger.
