Enlisted, a highly popular shooter that was released for Xbox Series X|S consoles in 2021, is now coming to Steam. Enlisted is a free-to-play title and has a massive fan following and while it’s coming to Steam, there is no release date yet.
Steam users can add it to their wishlist for now as the game is planned for a first-quarter release this year. Apart from Xbox, the game is also available on PlayStation consoles and PC through a Gaijin.net account.
Enlisted is often compared to Battlefield 5 and has massive maps, tank battles, and aerial battles with several soldier classes for players to choose from. The realistic and immersive experience was also one of the major factors players loved the game. It should be a matter of days now for the game to be officially released for Steam users.
Xbox Title Enlisted Coming to Steam by First Quarter
The announcement about the Steam listing was made on the official website. The game is officially retitled, Enlisted: Reinforced on Steam, and players who have their progress saved on their Gaijin.net account will be able to move the progress over to their Steam accounts.
Transferring the progress should be done within the first thirty days from the date of release on the Steam platform. The official announcement also states that the game will remain “fully cross-platform between the Gaijin.Net client, Steam, PlayStation and Xbox.”
Another major point mentioned in the announcement is that if players wish to make sure the developers get all the money from purchases made in-game, they should continue playing the game using their Gaijin.net accounts rather than move to Steam.
Over on the official forum, fans were vocal about showing their support for the developers.
Fans Not Planning to Move to Steam to Continue Supporting Developers
Valve is known to take close to 30% off any in-game purchases made in the titles listed in its digital distribution service and storefront, Steam. Hence, any purchase made in-game after transferring accounts to Steam would mean the developers will not get the entire payment.
Apart from the 30% cut, which could be lower for smaller games and studios, Steam is also said to charge $100 for every new game or app listed on the digital store. Over on the official Enlisted forum, several fans voiced their support to the studio stating they would continue using the official launcher rather than transferring the account to Steam, just to ensure any money spent goes directly to the developers.
As for the game itself, Enlisted is known to give fans chaotic gameplay and a plethora of weapons all of which can be customized by players. Players can also command an army of AI-controlled soldiers in the game, which isn’t something seen in a squad-based shooter game usually.
The game also has several massive maps based on locations including the Pacific Ocean, Normandy, Moscow, Tunisia, and Stalingrad. Fans shouldn’t have to wait for too long should they want to get their hands on the Steam copy of the game, given there are only two months left in the first quarter of this year.
