Though it’s very hard to imagine someone other than Henry Cavill in the role, Corenswet is doing extra to embody the character. According to Rachel Brosnahan, the actor has made extreme sacrifices to do justice to the opportunity. He recently traveled to Atlanta to begin fight training for Superman: Legacy.

According to the film’s synopsis, the story follows Superman as “he reconciles his heritage with his human upbringing. He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way in a world that views kindness as old-fashioned.”

My pie-in-the-sky ambition is definitely to play Superman. I would love to see somebody do an upbeat, throwback [take on Superman]. I love the Henry Cavill dark and gritty take, but I would love to see the next one be very bright and optimistic.”

Superman: Legacy is being written and directed by DC Studios head James Gunn. Thus, after teasing the audiences a few years back, Corenswet finally manifested his dream of playing the iconic role.
