However, Ferguson’s big break in Hollywood came with the 2015 action thriller Mission: Impossible—Rogue Nation. She played the role of former intelligence operative Ilsa Faust alongside Tom Cruise. Her performance earned her critical acclaim.

In a chat with Entertainment Tonight, Rebecca Ferguson spilled the beans on what she thought about her character’s ending in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (2023). The actress went on to say:

“There’s just that much you can do with a character, I find. And I’m entitled to my own opinion on this too. I want her to go rogue. I’m interested in the dark side, I don’t want to be a team member, I’m not interested in that. And I felt like that was where we were headed.”

In another part of the interview, the Swedish actress jokingly stated that the action spy franchise had taken up way too much of her time. She added:

“It takes a long time to make ‘Mission’ too. It is blood, sweat and tears doing those. Since I finished, I’ve done a TV show and two movies, and they’re still doing [the same] ‘Mission’ but, you never know.”

However, the 40-year-old expressed her gratitude for being part of the mega-hit franchise, saying, ‘Mission’ is such a huge dedication, and I’ve done it now, and it’s fantastic.”

Recently, the Stockholm native totally stole the show with her amazing acting in Dune: Part Two. In the film’s star-packed lineup, Timothée Chalamet shines as Paul Atreides, but Ferguson’s portrayal of Lady Jessica is just incredible.

In the recently released well-acclaimed Dune: Part Two, Rebecca Ferguson went on to reprise her role as Paul Atreides’ mother Lady Jessicaa concubine and part of a group called the Bene Gesserit. They’re a bunch of women trained to control people’s minds and shape humanity’s destiny.

In the movie, Ferguson’s character comes across as dry-humored and self-assured. She talks really fast and often ends her sentences with a playful tone. Her hair is neatly pulled back, and she’s wearing less of a makeup.

The movie itself is even more impressive than the first one, and both Chalamet and Zendaya keep the audience hooked. But it’s the Hercules star who really stands out, bringing depth and excitement to her role in Dune: Part Two—even topping her performance in the first film.

Apart from her role in Dune: Part Two, Ferguson also produced and acted in the Apple TV+ series Silo. The first season ended last year, and it’s already gearing up for production on season 2.

Last year, Deadline announced that the star would be taking on the role of a vengeful mercenary in the upcoming film adaptation of Joe Abercrombie’s Best Served Cold, based on the First Law book series.
