While it initially seemed Daredevil: Born Again would be a soft reboot, with each passing report, it appears this might not entirely be the case. Following the creative overhaul the show sustained this past fall after previous writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman were let go, reports emerged stating the show was set to include an all-new pilot.

And it appears, in the pilot for the upcoming Disney Plus show, we might witness the fan favorites from the Netflix series return, who were initially not suggested to appear in Born Again. However, the reported inclusion of Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll has some fans concerned, as they speculate the fan-favorite duo might meet their end at the very beginning.

Fans Fear The Reported Return of Karen and Foggy in Daredevil: Born Again Might Be Cut Short

In early 2023, it was reported that Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll would not return as Foggy and Karen in Born Again, which reasonably upset fans, as they were the heart of the Netflix series. But per notable Insider Jeff Sneider, the two are reprising their part after all. However, while it had fans excited, considering Sneider cautioned fans they might only return for the pilot, this had some fans worrying that the two might meet their demise at the very start if included.

Keeping in mind that the MCU is setting up Kingpin as the street-level Thanos, having him take out the fan favorites could end up benefiting the character while also making the story more intimate.

Daredevil: Born Again Is Going to Be Nothing Like the Netflix Show Said Vincent D’Onofrio

Following the reported inclusion of Karen and Foggy, along with Echo directly acknowledging Daredevil’s events, fans are assured the Disney Plus show is turning out to be more than just a soft reboot. However, for fans expecting it to be in line with the Netflix show, per Vincent D’Onofrio, this isn’t going to be the case, as Born Again will be completely its own thing. D’Onofrio also commended his costar Charlie Cox, stating they both had a great time continuing their rivalry.. D’Onofrio said (via Comicbook.com),

“I think it’s definitely a new show. It’s not the Netflix show. It’s definitely a new show. I mean, all I can say is that Charlie [Cox] and I are not bored. We are having a great time. We have a great cast, and I think everybody else is having a great time too. Charlie’s one of my favorite people, and I know that he comes here every day ready to knock it out of the park and you know how I am, I’m totally into this part, so I’m there for the same reason.”

But considering how integral Foggy and Karen have been to Matt Murdock’s story throughout the three seasons, fans will hope their reported return isn’t cut short just after one episode.
