There are some things that Elden Ring excels in above other titles but there may be an upcoming Soulslike game that has one aspect that it couldn’t match. The FromSoftware title is well known for its challenging combat system and variety of weaponry available but one thing it does not have is a certain defense tactic which was spotted on Social Media.

Rise of the Ronin, the PlayStation exclusive developed by Team Ninja and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment is set to launch on 22 March. With it comes the inevitable comparisons with the 2020 title Ghost of Tsushima, however, many fans are split about whether the upcoming title will surpass the previous epic featuring Feudal Japan.

What does Elden Ring not have?

Elden Ring
Elden Ring may do many things well but there’s one thing it can’t do.

Whilst many will argue that the graphics of Elden Ring are superior to that which has been seen of the upcoming PlayStation-exclusive game, one thing that the 2022 FromSoftware game does not have is the ability to parry bullets with a sword. Yes, you heard that correctly.

As can be seen below in the in-game footage taken from Social Media Site X, players can parry bullets fired at them and with the corresponding action, have their swords engulfed in flames to vanquish enemies in a blur of slashing fire.

To say that there is hype for the upcoming PlayStation exclusive may be something of an understatement and you only have to look at the comments on the social media post to see how fans feel about the game. However, there appear to be many fans who are disappointed by a lack of dismemberment but as with many titles, you can’t please everyone.

Can Rise of the Ronin match up to Ghost of Tsushima?

Rise of the Ronin
Rise of the Ronin is set to launch on 22 March and many say this could surpass the 2020 game from Sucker Punch Productions.

Ghost of Tsushima and Rise of the Ronin obviously have much in common given the settings and gameplay. Whilst many fans are patiently waiting for a sequel to the 2020 hit title developed by Sucker Punch Productions, the Soulslike game from Team Ninja looks to be a more than adequate substitute for those players who are looking for a fresh challenge in Feudal Japan.

There has already been coverage on the combat styles and various weapons available for the highly-anticipated game from Team Ninja. This has led many to suspect that Rise of the Ronin may be an even better game than that of Ghost of Tsushima

With Elden Ring as the current Soulslike title, there are always bound to be comparisons made to any other Soulslike game that appears. However, judging by the game footage and the reactions from fans, it looks like the PlayStation exclusive may just surpass the combat system for the FromSoftware title.
