Downey Jr., who had earlier won the SAG for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series for the comedy-drama, Ally McBeal, didn’t shy away from injecting a touch of humor into his acceptance speech, as he added a playful wink at his fellow nominees.

Downey Jr. further continued, “Why me? Why now? Why do things seem to be going my way? Unlike my fellow nominees, I will never grow tired from the sound of my own voice.” He was nominated under the category alongside Sterling K. Brown, Willem Dafoe, Robert De Niro, and Ryan Gosling.
