One of the most anticipated games of the last few years is probably GTA 6, the upcoming entry in the Rockstar Games franchise, which is coming more than a decade after GTA 5‘s first launch. The company owned by Take-Two Interactive has made the current Grand Theft Auto title one of the most profitable games of all time. This particular game was launched on three different console generations.
Rockstar Games has taken a very complicated decision and is making employees work in the offices five days a week.
GTA 6 and the Very Controversial Decision Made by Rockstar Games
Rockstar Games is a development studio with a very prominent reputation. There were some weird things in the past that had to do with crunch. But this studio is improving its games with every new project. Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most praised games of all time. With the new GTA 6 coming in 2025, the studio will finally make another title in the franchise after more than 10 years.
Rockstar made the decision to make the employees involved in the game come to the office five days a week.
This news was confirmed by the popular video game journalist, Jason Schreier, who wrote an article for Bloomberg explaining this very particular business decision. In the last few months of development, to avoid leaks and hacks, Rockstar will make its employees be in the office at least five days a week without the possibility of doing home-office.
From a business point of view, this decision makes some sense after the incredible leaks that the game suffered with the inclusion of the first trailer.
The measures taken by Rockstar could also mean that GTA 6 is in the final stages of development.
A New Entry in This Multi-Billion-Dollar Open-World Franchise
GTA 5 meant billions of dollars in revenue and millions of copies sold, thanks to the tremendous success of the GTA Online part of the game with constant new content and missions, the game was a hit between streamers and content creators. This was like this for more than 10 years, with all the different versions of the game. Every player could have a base of operations with vehicles and weapons.
The new entry in the franchise will be set in a made-up version of Miami, the popular Vice City, with a female protagonist and her companion. No official gameplay or details about the story were given by Rockstar Games. GTA 6 will launch sometime in 2025.
