Rose McGowan called out actor Ben Affleck, accusing him of lying when he expressed being “angry” about Weinstein’s alleged abuse of women but failed to address whether he was aware of it. Subsequently, Rose McGowan clarified that she tearfully confided in Ben Affleck about her encounter with Weinstein, saying that she had “just come from Harvey’s,” indicating that she had informed Affleck about the situation. “Goddamn it, I told him to stop doing that,” she recalled Affleck saying.

“It’s not like I’m raging at Ben Affleck. I never said to him, ‘I was just r*ped.’ It’s just more to illustrate the point of this continual thing of everybody knowing and everybody being part of it, unwittingly or proactively.”

Rose McGowan made serious allegations, stating that Harvey Weinstein had r*ped her, and in the aftermath of reporting it, Amazon Studios dropped her project. On the same day, Twitter suspended her account for 12 hours due to her continuous tweets discussing Weinstein’s sexual misconduct towards her.

Harvey Weinstein Spied On Rose McGowan

At one point, Harvey Weinstein, through his lawyer David Boies, engaged the services of the private intelligence agency Black Cube to spy on Rose McGowan. Their aim was to prevent media outlets like The New York Times and The New Yorker from publishing their investigations into Weinstein’s actions.

In 2018, Rose McGowan’s former manager, Jill Messick, who was with her during the time of the alleged rape in 1997, tragically died by suicide. Messick’s family attributed her death to Weinstein, the media, the public, and McGowan, placing blame on multiple factors surrounding her passing.

In 2021, Rose McGowan made a startling claim, stating that Jennifer Siebel Newsom, the wife of California governor Gavin Newsom, tried to bribe her in an attempt to silence her allegations against Weinstein. A spokesperson for Siebel Newsom refuted McGowan’s claims, dismissing them as a “complete fabrication.

In December 2021, a federal judge dismissed Rose McGowan’s racketeering lawsuit, which she had filed against Harvey Weinstein, lawyers David Boies and Lisa Bloom, and Black Cube in October 2019. The dismissal occurred because she missed the deadline to file the necessary documents by December.
