As per reports, Sean Connery was once faced with a real gun when his co-star’s jealous boyfriend turned up on the set of their film. The actor smartly managed to save the situation.

Sean Connery had a real James Bond moment on his film’s set

Actor Sean Connery and Lana Turner worked together in the film Another Time, Another Place. In the film, there was a love scene, and the two actors were engaged in the love scene when Turner’s gangster boyfriend showed up on the set. Her boyfriend was jealous of Sean Connery, and in a rage, he pointed a gun at him and threatened to shoot him.

James Bond star summoned courage and bravely grabbed the gun from his hand. He twisted the gangster’s wrist until he left the scene.

In the film, Turner played the role of an American journalist who had a love affair with a BBC war correspondent (played by Connery). During the shoot for the 1957 film in London, there were rumors in the press that claimed that the two actors were involved in a real-life affair. As the news spread, it did not go down well for Turner’s mob enforcer boyfriend Johnny Stompanato. It was due to the rumors that he had stomped into the sets of the film.

Lana Turner’s daughter killed her mother’s boyfriend

In 1958, after the incident at the film shoot, Sean Connery’s co-actor Lana Turner was at her home with her 13 years old daughter, Cheryl Crane. She heard them arguing in the bedroom and thought the gangster was going to kill her mother. Hence, she grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him in the stomach. She was too scared because of the threats the gangster was making.

Crane said in 2012 in a conversation with CBS,

“There’s a knife on the counter. I picked it up and ran back up the stairs. Her door suddenly flies open. I see John coming toward me. He’s got his hand up… I raised the knife and he walks right into it. And he looked at me. And he said, ‘My God, Cheryl, what have you done?'”

Johnny’s death was ruled as a justifiable homicide.
