Her exit, shrouded in rumors of on-set tensions and conflicts with fellow cast members, cast a shadow over the production. However, Tori Spelling and Garth recently pondered what might have occurred had Doherty stayed on the show longer during an episode of their 90210MG podcast.

For the first four seasons, Doherty played Brenda Walsh, and her departure in 1994 was marked by rumors of conflicts with fellow cast members.

Spelling and Garth considered whether taking a break could have resolved these issues and allowed Doherty to remain on the show. As Spelling put it,

“I wish that Brenda would have stayed on the show, definitely, but I don’t know where they were gonna go with her character.”

However, they acknowledged uncertainty about the direction her character might have taken. Spelling also mentioned that a lot of people weren’t happy on set, which contributed to a toxic atmosphere.

Despite her 1994 exit, Doherty later reunited with her former co-stars for Fox’s series BH90210, where the cast portrayed fictionalized versions of themselves attempting to revive the 90210 legacy.
