Mayim Bialik, though well-known for her work as Amy Farrah Fowler in The Big Bang Theory, has gained quite a negative reputation in recent times. The actress has been very vocal about her opinions on the Israel-Palestine conflict, being very outward about her support for Israel amid all that is happening in Gaza.
This has turned many hardcore fans of the series to dislike her, boycotting the actress altogether.
Recently, she made similar comments in regards to the Oscars ceremony. This has resulted in many criticizing not only her ideological beliefs but also her professional life.
Mayim Bialik Slams The Oscars
Recently, Mayim Bialik took to her X account to talk about her thoughts on the Oscars, especially concerning the Israel-Palestine conflict. She talked about how she wished that celebrities were more vocal about their support for Israel. She wished for them to wear yellow ribbons on their clothing as a show of support for her cause.
“Of course I have opinions about a lot of things that went down at the Oscars, both on the red carpet and on the stage, but here’s what I’m going to say: I sure wish every single human being at the Oscars would have worn a yellow ribbon to show support for Hamas immediately returning the hostages who have been held since they were seized from their homes on October 7- including American citizens.” she said.
The Jewish actress then went into detail about how she wishes for Hamas to return their hostages, regardless of whether they are American or not. She believes that if all celebrities had shown their support for Israel, some action would have taken place.
On the other hand, many celebrities were vocal about their support for Palestine at the ceremony. Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell, along with many other celebrities, wore ceasefire pins that were attached to their clothes all night. Mark Ruffalo was even talking about his support during his red-carpet interview, using his voice for what he believes in.
Fans Are Not Happy
After Mayim Bialik’s comments online, many fans voiced their own opinions on the matter. Many seem to dismiss her thoughts altogether, asking her to stop talking. Some, on the other hand, brought up the Palestinians that are dying in Gaza. There seemed to be a genuine disgust among people.

Some brought up her professional career, saying that she should focus on making successful shows rather than talking about matters such as these. Audiences seem genuinely infuriated at her beliefs and even labeled her as being a horrible person.
It is safe to say that Mayim Bialik underestimated the sheer amount of backlash she would get for her comments about something as simple as the Oscars.
