Featuring Gal Gadot as the titular DC character, not only were her solo and team adventures well received but fans also loved the casting choice.

Yet, it seems with the end of Snyder’s run in the DC realm, Gadot’s run as Diana Prince has also ended and fans now want other actresses to take up the mantle of the demigod. And Rachel Zegler is one actress fans want to be cast as Wonder Woman in the revamped DCU. But an industry insider denounced the fan campaign and fans had some mixed reactions.

James Gunn is busy rebooting the entire DC Universe, bringing back the old characters in a new form while introducing several others. Yet one character that is largely missing from the plans is Wonder Woman, a character that fans have come to love and admire in the past few years.

With no announcement of Wonder Woman being introduced in the DC verse anytime soon, it is unlikely that Gal Gadot will reprise her fan-favorite character (see Variety). And so, fans have been busy fan-casting and pushing Rachel Zegler as the next Diana Prince.

Also a co-star of Gadot in their upcoming Disney’s Snow White live-action movie, Zegler is no doubt an amazing and pretty talented actress. Last seen in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, the actress is already a DC star, having starred in Shazam as Anthea.

Despite being a popular choice, industry insider and X user @MyTimeToShineH recently denounced the many fan campaigns promoting the young actress as the formidable DC superhero.

“As much as I love her [Zegler] she’s not the right fit. Honestly I want a wrestler to play the role.”

Stated the insider in a recent tweet, prompting netizens to start yet another debate on who would be the next best choice to lead the role in a revamped DCU.

James Gunn is reportedly busy bringing major DC characters like Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, and others to the screen with a fresh narrative. Yet there hasn’t been any mention of Wonder Woman making her comeback on screen in the new DC universe.

This hasn’t deterred DC fans from exclaiming who would be the best choice to star as the titular DC character after Gal Gadot. While Rachel Zegler is a popular choice among certain factions of the fandom, not all are too fond of the actress.

While some fans are still rooting for Rachel Zegler to bag the role, others are open to different actresses, or even wrestlers for the role. With no official announcements from DC regarding the future of the character, it remains to be seen who will ultimately don the iconic outfit.
