However, the Blue Beetle star Xolo Maridueña was not happy when he realized that he had been cropped out of a viral meme featuring Selena Gomez and Tyga. This happened quite a few days back and he has been vocal about the matter, he even opened up about the experience during a podcast. The fact that he had been cut off from Gomez affected the young star pretty well.
Xolo Maridueña Was Cropped Out of a Meme Featuring Selena Gomez
Hollywood actor Xolo Maridueña was undoubtedly upset when he saw that he had been cut off from a popular meme featuring Selena Gomez and Tyga. Gomez and Tyga can be seen appearing startled at something happening off-screen at a soccer match between Inter Miami and LAFC. Maridueña who was sitting next to Gomez was cropped out of the photo when it was published by a news outlet.
Xolo Maridueña joked that he had been “Mike Wazowski’d” on social media to vent his annoyance. He also pointed out that Tyga, who was seated in the row in front of him, had been left in the photo. The Blue Beetle actor’s supporters came together, and many of them shared memes and jokes they had created themselves. Some individuals, however, felt it was rude of the news outlets to cut Maridueña out of the picture.
“Dude, why did I get cut out right there. Wait, I’m pissed! Yeah, I got f—ing Mike Wazowski’d, but not Tyga! But Tyga got to keep there? She’s standing next to a superhero, bruh. Bro, the first brown superhero! She’s gotta give some love. She has to come out with a statement.”
Xolo Maridueña shared this statement during the Lone Lobos Official podcast via YouTube.
Maridueña’s humorous response to the meme brought attention to the problem of media portrayal. People of color are frequently omitted from photographs, especially when they are posing next to more well-known individuals. This might be considered a sort of microaggression that feeds into unfavorable assumptions about persons of color. Xolo Maridueña, on the other hand, is a rising star in Hollywood and is certain to achieve great things in the future.
Xolo Maridueña’s Blue Beetle Shines Hope For DCU Fans
After a succession of critical and economic failures, Xolo Maridueña’s DC Universe film Blue Beetle is offering hope to DC Universe fans, though it did not make big numbers at the box office, it received mostly positive reviews. It was also the first DC movie to have a Latino superhero play the main character. Jaime Reyes, a teenage lad who discovers a potent extraterrestrial scarab that grants him abilities, is portrayed by Maridueña in the movie. The movie follows Reyes as he develops control over his newly acquired abilities and turns into the superhero Blue Beetle.
Although Blue Beetle is a relatively recent member of the DC Comics cast, he has already won the hearts of many readers. He is an inspirational and sympathetic figure who captures the variety of the DC Universe. The movie is also regarded as a precursor to a new, inclusive, and realistic direction for the DC Universe.
