Even though the description in the Steam store and its tags have been routinely updated over this year, there has recently been a burst of activity beginning in late September that will continue throughout October.

The Steam achievements are the best tidbit of information, as it shows that in-game achievements have finally been finished and signed off on, a huge stepping stone towards a completed game. The assets and images for this remake have been updated as well.

So, do all of these new updates and tweaks that the Blooper Team have been releasing mean that a release is close? Not really. Unfortunately, incremental updates like this happen with almost every game, but there is some good news.

The PS5 is one of the two systems which will have the Silent 2 Remake.

After many leaks, including game images, release date, and gameplay, it appears Konamifinally revived the long-comatose franchise last year. This started with a brand new remake of Silent Hill 2, which will be released for both the PC and the PS5 as a timed console exclusive.

Silent Hill 2 Remake will be a contemporary take on Konami’s second entry of the Silent Hill franchise, following the main character, James Sunderland, as he embarks on a town-wide search for his wife, three years after her death.

Blooper Team, the studio behind such games as The Medium, Layers of Fear, Observer, as well as many other immersive horror games, was rumored to be involved in a Silent Hill remake back in June of 2021. At that time, a partnership between Konami and Blooper Team was announced, with it being said that the two would be working together to create a new game.

These rumors began due to a slew of leaks about the game that surfaced online earlier this year. These leaks not only included images and actual gameplay, but according to Twitter/X user and popular leaker, NateTheHate2, the remake would include reworked puzzles and new game endings.

Also, according to NateTheHate2, the Silent Hill 2 Remake isn’t the only Silent Hill project that Blooper Team and Konami have on the books. There are rumored to be multiple Silent Hill projects in the works, not only including new mainline entries, but also new side stories to tie into the main franchise.

This could be huge for franchise fans, as this currently beloved series hasn’t had a mainline entry since 2012’s Silent Hill: Downpour, which was last released for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but was sadly the last mainline entry for this series.
