It’s been over four years since we have enjoyed a new Gears of War experience, and the cravings are starting to show in fans. Rumors are flying, theories are being concocted, and overall, the fandom is wondering when The Coalition will at least hint at a new game.
Well, fans may not have to wait much longer as evidence grows stronger that the studio is ready to show off a fresh installment in the beloved franchise. The newest hint in this direction comes from none other than the voice of JD Fenix himself!
Gears of War Voice Actor Hints at the New Game Reveal in June
Actors, voice actors included, have a very sacred duty of keeping things they’re working on a secret until the creators are ready to show them to the world. Sometimes, actors are instructed to reveal just a bit to build some hype. That might be Liam McIntyre’s goal.
Now, there’s no real reason to create hype for a possible Gears of War 6 reveal, fans are already eager for any news about the game. We reported earlier in the month that two industry insiders suggested a new Gears of War could be announced, and now we have indirect confirmation from an insider on the project itself.
I have no idea. I think @GearsofWar tells us all in June. 🙂 https://t.co/jNxqbyTZMi

Liam McIntyre, the voice of JD Fenix in Gears 5 games and the lead role in Spartacus dropped this hint on X/Twitter. When asked if JD’s death from the fifth game was canon, he stated that he wasn’t sure but that the game would reveal it to everyone in June. Many are taking this as confirmation of a new game in the series.
While it is not an official announcement, it does very strongly hint at Gears of War 6. It also ties in with the news that The Coalition canceled two projects to work on a big project. However, don’t get too excited; we doubt we are going to get any concrete release date soon.
Fans Brace for a Reveal and Amid Wave of Evidence
Others have pointed to The Coalition’s activities on LinkedIn and how the company has been hiring people with specific skill sets in the past few months. It seems safe to say the game could be what Xbox needs to reignite passion and excitement in its fanbase, as recent exclusives have not hit the mark as far as popularity and performance are concerned.
But the game might not even be exclusive to the platform. Recent developments have shown Microsoft is willing to release exclusive games on other systems. Phil Spencer claims this is to help grow Xbox-first titles, but it’s a decision that is being questioned by many in the camp.
Exclusives help bring more people into the fold, so making them available to other systems could have a chilling effect on console sales. Regardless, Xbox also has Game Pass, another major revenue maker, and we can be sure Gears of War 6 will be available on the service at release.
When do you think we will get a sixth game in the series? Let us know in the comments!
