Spider-Man 4: Tom Hardy’s Venom Will Save Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in a Major Way After No Way Home Sacrifice (Theory)

A Reddit theory states that Ned might turn to the dark side thanks to the Symbiote left behind by Eddie Brock.

Spider-Man 4: Tom Hardy’s Venom Will Save Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in a Major Way After No Way Home Sacrifice (Theory)

SUMMARY

  • Tom Hardy's Venom might be the way to go if Peter Parker's identity is to be linked with Spider-Man.
  • The piece of symbiote left behind could clash with the spell that's keeping everyone from remembering Spider-Man.
  • Should the victim of this clash be Ned Leeds, we might get a Hobgoblin in the MCU with a magical edge.

Peter Parker’s new status quo as of the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home leaves him in a pretty isolated situation. Cut off from everyone he has ever known, there might be one ray of hope for the character, that could bring back the memories of the people, undoing the spell: Tom Hardy’s Venom.

The theory posited on Reddit focuses on the little titbit of information that was dropped at the end of Venom: Let There Be Carnage when the symbiote informed Eddie Brock of his kind function more like a hive mind, able to extract and collate information from across the multiverse. This would mean that the character should be able to remember who Peter Parker and this could spell doom for Spider-Man.

The Symbiote could be the reason Ned Leeds turns into Hobgoblin

Given that a version of Venom exists in Sony’s Universe of Spider-Man Characters, it seems unlikely that the MCU will be allowed to have its own version of the symbiote-clad villain. However, given that knowledge is shared by symbiotes across the multiverse, the MCU version of the symbiote might just remind Ned Leeds of Peter Parker’s identity, given that a piece of Eddie Brock’s symbiote was left back on Earth 199999 after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

According to Redditor u/VinnieONeill, Ned might go insane with the symbiote’s memories of Peter Parker clashing with the spell that is currently in place across the Marvel Universe, making everyone who knew Peter Parker forget him. This would result in a Hobgoblin that could be partially powered by the Symbiote but also have some sorcery thrown in, given that Ned has been shown to have some magical lineage in the MCU.

As things currently stand, Spider-Man might bet better off anonymous

During the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man was directly accused of murdering Quinten Beck/ Mysterio, before his identity was revealed. While Spider-Man could be publically labeled enemy number one, it is probably in the best interest of Parker to remain anonymous.

Given all identification of Peter Parker is now null and void, and the fact that he is going to have trouble fitting into society as his alter ego, Parker could do without the accusations that are levied at Spider-Man making his way into his personal life.

It would only make sense to restore the people’s memories of Peter Parker as Spider-Man if the latter’s name is cleared, and even then, it puts a lot of Peter’s loved ones in danger, which might not be the best idea for him. It is safe to assume that we might never return to a status quo where Peter shares his identity as Spider-Man with anyone, at least for the foreseeable future.
