According to the said rumor, Tom Hardy’s Venom 3 will include a fan-favorite character who is none other than Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. After the mess Sony made with Madame Web, Venom 3 will be the studio’s chance at redemption. Therefore, it is understandable that they are trying their best to make the film as entertaining as possible, by any means required!

According to a recent rumor, there are strong chances that Tom Holland will be paying a visit to Tom Hardy’s world in Venom 3. The rumor further stated that Hardy’s Venom will be “pulled between two universes, most likely the MCU and the Sony Spider Universe.”

Now, Spider-Man and Venom have locked horns on numerous occasions in comic books and even in Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man 3. It would be interesting to see Hardy and Holland’s versions of the two characters battle it out on the screen if the rumor ever comes to fruition. Both Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home showed a glimpse of Hardy’s Brock/Venom in the MCU.

In the latter, as the character gets transported back to his own universe, he leaves a piece of the symbiote behind hinting that Venom’s work is not done in the MCU. This opened up doors of possibilities of what’s next for the character.

The rumor has received mixed reactions from the fans. Take a look at what they have to say about it all:

Fans aren’t the only ones who want to see Venom and Spider-Man battle it out in future movies. During an interview with Esquire UK, Hardy opened up about wanting to have Spidey and Venom in the same movie, but he knows it will not be easy to pull something like that off. The Mad Max: Fury Road actor stated,

“I would be remiss if I wasn’t trying to steer any kind of connectivity. I wouldn’t be doing the job if I wasn’t awake and open to any opportunity or eventuality or be excited by that. Obviously, that’s a large canyon to leap, to be bridged by one person alone, and it would take a much higher level of diplomacy and intelligence, sitting down and talking, to take on an arena such as that.”

However, he continued that keeping the facts aside, it would be extremely exciting to have Spider-Man and Venom in the same project.

“Should both sides be willing, and it be beneficial to both sides, I don’t see why it couldn’t be. I hope and strongly, with both hands, push, eagerly, towards that potential, and would do anything to make that happen, within what’s right in business. But it would be foolish not to head towards the Olympic Games if you were running 100 meters, so yeah! I want to play on that field.”

Well, it looks like Hardy is all for the idea. We are just going to have to wait and see if the Spider-Man he ends up fighting in the future will be Holland’s or not.

Venom 3 releases in theatres on 08 November 2024.
