It seems like we’re going to see more of that storyline as Marvel recently started publishing a new Spider-Man-centred storyline in which we see our beloved web-slinging superhero take out some of the most powerful characters of the universe with ease.

Spider-Man has been transformed into a human weapon

Spider-Man is arguably considered one of the most popular superheroes of all time. The neighborhood-friendly web-slinging superhero is known for his good sense of humor and maintaining his impeccable style even while taking on multiple villains at the same time.

However, in the recently launched publication of Edge of Spider-Verseone of the variants of Spider-Man has now been converted into a human weapon under the alias Weapon VIII with the Weapon Plus program and now works for Colonel Thompson. In Edge of Spider-Verse #1, we see Earth’s 72, Wolverine escaping from the Weapon X facility just like he did on Earth-616.

However, Wolverine ends up being pursued by Weapon VIII which later turns out to be a modified version of Spider-Man. Wolverine tries to talk Weapon VIII out of working for the Weapon Plus program as they are just using him to serve their purpose. However, he does not listen to Logan and continues to fight him.

At the end of the battle, Weapon VIII stabs Wolverine with his spider arms and secrets Napalm into his body to set the mutant on fire, thus killing him.

Spider-Man even ends up killing Captain America as a human weapon

Wolverine asked Weapon VIII if he even knew his real name when the duo was fighting. Spider-Man replied that he does not need to know his name as he is the best at his job. However, when he returns to the base after taking out Wolverine, Weapon VIII asks Colonel Thompson about his real name, which the Colonel refuses to reveal.

It becomes clear that having his memory wiped has definitely had an adverse effect on him and after Logan pointed it out, he is now desperate to know his name.

Sometime later, the Colonel asks Weapon VIII to take out Captain America. Before engaging Steve Rogers aka Captain America in a battle, Spider-Man tells Colonel that he will be happy to take him out if Thompson tells Weapon VIII his real name. Colonel Thompson again refuses as Weapon VIII starts throwing the battle on purpose.

Just as Captain America is ready to land that one fatal blow on Weapon VIII, he asks Colonel Thompson once again for his real name. However, this time, Thompson cracks under pressure as Captain America is an important target and tells Weapon VIII his real name, Peter Parker.

Spider-Man quickly took control of the battle after learning his name. He later ended up stabbing Captain America in the head with his spider arms, killing him in the process.
