As one of the first Star Wars projects outside of EA, the franchise that holds legendary characters like Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and many more will have a chance to present a new original story. Ubisoft first introduced Outlaws in 2021, with the possibility of traveling through an open-world setting with your own ship and vehicles to look for a job that really pays and is not so honest.

This game will be set between the events of Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The protagonists of this original story will be Kay Vess and her faithful alien companion, Nix, who will be key to accomplishing missions and making stealth possible. There will be a new region never before seen in this universe, Toshara. This place will be part of the Outer Rim, where all the action of the game will happen as Vass is looking for her freedom.

Kay Vass is a mercenary and thief who makes the wrong people angry, so in order to survive, he will have to do one giant job with the right crew. Ubisoft will introduce a reputation system that will affect how others see you across the galaxy.

If you make the wrong decision, you will lose reputation and alliances that could be useful in the future. Several popular characters from this universe will make cameos in the game.

Your alien companion Nix will help you knock out enemies and steal things, especially weapons, and will be key for every new mission. Stealth and patience will be the main things you need to have in every new mission or heist. The Speeder will also be one of the main vehicles that will help you escape any criminal organization that is after you; this could also include the Empire if you cross paths with the rulers of the galaxy.

Ubisoft has also confirmed a Wanted system; the authorities could give very tasty rewards to any mercenary who captures you. Other characters, like Han Solo and even the Stormtroopers, will also appear in the game. The game’s studio is really trying to make players feel like they are part of the franchise’s vast universe. Popular planets, such as Tatooine, will also be part of the story.

Star Wars Outlaws will be available on August 30 for PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. The pre-purchase bonus will include a Kessel Runner Bonus Pack, including cosmetics for your speeder and the Trailblazer spaceship.

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
