Starfield was one of the most anticipated games of the year, and it has finally taken the world by storm with its early access, released on September 1st. Leading up to the ambitious space RPG’s launch, developer Bethesda revealed it will be bringing back the Creation Club for its latest title, calling it a “modder’s paradise” because of its endless array of in-game modifications. Naturally, although the game’s actual release is still a couple of days away, modders have ensured that no time is wasted, unleashing their creativity in unexpected ways.

Bethesda’s Iconic Modding Tradition Continues in Starfield

Throughout Bethesda’s video game release history, modding has always played an extremely significant part, with the developer providing its fans with immense freedom. Sure, some of these modifications help with fixing bugs and optimizing the overall experience, something Bethesda titles usually require, but the studio’s modding community also takes the actual content of the game in its own hands as well.

From new weapons, characters, and gear, to uncharted locations and fresh quests, the modders have constantly added more value to the developer’s games, and the tradition continues with its latest title, Starfield.

To put things into perspective, Skyrim Special Edition has over 60,000 mods, while Fallout 4 has around 50,000. So, it makes complete sense that Starfield is already embracing that trend, as not even a full day after its early access launched, more than 100 mods took over Bethesda’s latest title.

A lot of them are expected modifications, such as changes in the menu, reshades in the graphics, and the ability to skip intros, along with some that can actually be tweaked using the official console commands in the game, which include giving your character lockpicks.

Of course, there is probably a lot more to come as time passes, but as of right now, there are some Starfield mods that stand out, and every player should check them out.

The Best Starfield Mods You Should Check Out Right Now

The first mod that stands out is called “Starfield Upscaler“, which was created by PureDark, who also made it for Fallout 4. This mod takes out FSR and puts in DLSS instead, making the game look a little nicer than it originally does. Next up is a mod called “Cleanfield,” which basically makes the game load faster and creates a more visually pleasing main menu by removing the intro videos and message of the day.

If you are not a fan of the intrusive XP meter that stays on the screen, the next Starfield mod called “Move or Disable XP Bar” will make you very happy because it fixes that issue for you. Moreover, if you want to use mods and achievements simultaneously, it is only possible by enabling a mod called “Achievement Enabler.” Dualsense PS5 Icons are another amazing mod that lets you match the game’s on-screen icons with your controller buttons.

Players have also been going all out with the character creation mode in Starfield, with some models being genuinely terrifying, but a couple being instantly recognizable. One character preset that falls into the latter category is the iconic Seinfeld character George Constanza, and we’re sure we’ll see more pop culture icons making appearances in the game.
