Starfield is undeniably one of the biggest video game releases of the year, and Bethesda’s highly anticipated space RPG finally launched two days ago on September 6. As expected, the game has become the talk of the galaxy by taking over the gaming landscape. Prior to its awaited release, Bethesda described its latest title as a “modder’s paradise” because of the countless ways in which players can modify the game.

Naturally, modders have wasted absolutely no time being extremely creative with the modding option in Starfield, ending up with some horrifying and amazing mods to share with the community. And of course, one of the first iconic characters to make his due appearance in the game is none other than the most recognizable tank engine of all time, Thomas.

Thomas the Tank Engine Goes to Space in Starfield

We have already witnessed Thomas the Tank Engine literally turning into a dragon and breathing fire thanks to past mods in previous Bethesda games, so him going on his first space adventure in Starfield does not feel too unbelievable. Bethesda’s modding community has always been unrivalled, as it has collectively dedicated hours of its life and created thousands of mods for Skyrim and Fallout 4, so it just makes sense to continue the tradition into the developer’s latest title.

There are two aspects of Starfield that easily stand out from the rest of the game, one of which is the highly detailed spaceship building option, and the other is its crazy modding potential. Combine both of them together, and you somehow get the iconic Thomas the Tank Engine gloriously making his way into the Settled Systems.

We are still not sure as to why modders are so obsessed with bringing the popular children’s cartoon character into unexpected settings, but hey, we are definitely not complaining.

Thomas the Tank Engine Appears in Two Forms in Starfield

Starfield is the latest Bethesda game to be graced by Thomas the Tank Engine.
Starfield is the latest Bethesda game to be graced by Thomas the Tank Engine.

Actually, Thomas the Tank Engine has held a lot of significance throughout Bethesda’s video game release history. There is a whole page dedicated to it on the official Nexus Mods page for Skyrim called “Really Useful Dragons,” which quite literally takes all of the dragons in the game and swaps them for various characters from the famous animated series. So it took only a couple of days for the iconic engine to make its way into Starfield in two completely different but amazing forms.

The first Thomas the Tank Engine Starfield mod comes in the form of a huge spaceship, created by a Reddit user called MrCaine332. The spaceship looks exactly like Sir Topham Hatt’s train engine, and the player’s dedication to modifying the in-game ships is actually quite impressive. In fact, MrCaine332 has previously also modelled one of the ships that bears uncanny resemblance to AT-AT walkers from Star Wars.

Secondly, the other Thomas the Tank Engine Starfield mod, created by modder BulwarkHD, appears in a totally distinct form, called “Thomas the Tank Engine Vasco Retexture.” It’s quite clear from the title of the mod that it swaps out a robotic Constellation member’s skin and paints it in Thomas’ iconic colors, with his creepy smiling face placed on the robot’s torso.

Are you planning on trying out the Thomas the Tank Engine Starfield mods? What other character would you like to be modded into the game? Let us know in the comments!
