Starring Jenna Ortega in the title role, the Netflix show Wednesday has been a huge hit for the streamer. Following its release in November 2022, it has become one of the most popular shows on the platform with more than 250 million views last year. It also ranked among the 10 most popular titles in the first half of this year on the streaming platform.

As per Bloomberg, Netflix is planning to expand the series with a spin-off following Fred Armisen’s character Uncle Fester, who made a guest appearance in the seventh episode of the show’s first season. While there is no further information available on the possible spin-off, the reports also suggest that the streamer is planning a series of Addams Family shows following the success of Wednesday.

The Witcher

While Liam Hemsworth is set to replace Henry Cavill in the lead role of the show The Witcher, the makers of the show are also planning to expand the universe with another spin-off. Netflix has already released two spin-offs titled The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and The Witcher: Blood Origin.

However, earlier this year, reports stated that a potential spin-off series centered around the controversial gang of bandits known as The Rats is under development. While no official statements have been released on its development, the streamer is also working on a family-friendly animated series.

Peaky Blinders

Steven Knight’s period crime drama based on a real urban youth gang of the same name, Peaky Blinders, features an ensemble cast including Cillian Murphy and Helen McCrory. Earlier this year, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that an untitled animated series set within the Stranger Things universe is under development. Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer have not clarified if the series would feature any cast member from the original show.

Apart from the animation show, Stranger Things reportedly has another untitled live-action spin-off in development, and The Duffer Brothers have also announced a London stage show, Stranger Things: The First Shadow. The spin-offs are also expected to perform similarly to Stranger Things, which has become one of the most popular shows on the platform throughout its 4 seasons.

In 2021, Netflix announced a spin-off to Álex Pina’s Spanish crime drama, Money Heist, following Pedro Alonso’s character Berlin. The series, which is set to premiere on Netflix soon, follows Berlin as he sets up a gang and plans together for one of his most ambitious robberies ever.
