While promoting her Netflix film Enola Holmes 2, in which she stars as the titular character, actress Millie Bobby Brown took a lie detector test with the entertainment channel Vanity Fair. She was asked numerous questions about her personal as well as her professional life, to which she was expected to answer truthfully. Questions included opinions about her Stranger Things co-stars as well as her childhood.

Bobby Brown fared quite well in her test as she mostly answered truthfully, even when the questions would likely put her in a spot. For instance, she revealed that her Stranger Things co-star Finn Wolfhard was a bad kisser. Wolfhard plays Mike Wheeler, who becomes Eleven’s boyfriend in seasons 2 and 3 of the series. The pair share their first kiss at the end of season 2 at the school’s Snow Ball event. Bobby Brown also mentioned in the interview that Wolfhard has not improved since then.

One of the funniest instances in the interview was when she was asked if she liked co-star Noah Schnapp’s hairstyle in the series. Schnapp plays Will Byers in the series and has a very odd Beatles-style haircut. Bobby Brown and Schnapp are best friends off-screen and the former lied during the interview that the hairstyle looked good on him. She was immediately caught.

The most controversial question Millie Bobby Brown was asked during the lie detector test was about a TikTok video she had posted when she was younger. In the video, Bobby Brown claims to be a flat-earther, a community of conspiracy theorists who believe that the Earth is flat. When asked if she believed in the conspiracy, she said,

“Unfortunately yes, I did. No, I don’t [believe in it anymore]…Although I’ve never seen…when you’re on a plane you can see the curve. I’ve not seen that yet.”

Not being able to physically see the curvature of the Earth is one of the arguments that the ‘Flat Earth Society’ puts forth for their theory. The lie detector test administrator asks Millie Bobby Brown if she has seen satellite pictures of the Earth to which she responds positively. Another argument that the flat-earthers put forth is that all pictures are provided by the Government and that they could be manipulated to lie to the general public.

Bobby Brown did mention that she does not believe in the conspiracy anymore and that came out as the truth in the test. However, at the end of the interview, when asked if she had said a lie that was not caught by the machine, she responded in the affirmative. Which lie was she talking about? It was never revealed.
