Overwatch 2 used to have a free loot box drop system that provided players with skins and other items for free in the past versions of the game. Blizzard then decided to scrap that and it resulted in a backlash from the community.
Later Blizzard brought new ways for players to obtain free items and skins in the form of Twitch Drops and also with Prime Gaming, free Battle Pass tiers, Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation Plus, and more. Overwatch 2 is again giving away a cosmetic bundle to PlayStation Plus subscribers for free.
Overwatch 2 Is Giving Away Free Cosmetic Bundle to PlayStation Plus Subscribers
Overwatch 2 is giving a free bundle to PlayStation Plus subscribers as part of its partnership with PlayStation. This was pointed out by @OWCavalry on X, formerly Twitter, revealing what the free bundle contains. The bundle includes a Toybot Zenyatta (Legendary) skin as well as five Battle Pass tier skips.
PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to get these for free and it will also help them get the Onryō Hanzo mythic skin more quickly with the push from the tier skips. The holiday-themed Toybot Zenyatta skin was introduced back in 2020 with the Winter Wonderland event in Overwatch. The Toybot Zenyatta skin features a digital computer face with blue plastic coating all over the body and color-blocked toy puzzle orbs.

The five Battle Pass tier skips would be more valuable for players if they have purchased the Overwatch 2 battle pass and can take its full advantage. PlayStation Plus subscribers can get the free bundle by visiting the PlayStation Store and searching for the “Overwatch 2 Zenyatta Toybot Bonus Pack“ and then claiming it.
Although it is clear that Overwatch 2 wants to boost sales of its Battle Pass through this bonus pack, this is a great opportunity for players to get the Toybot Zenyatta skin as it was part of the Winter Wonderland event. The bonus pack was made available on November 8 and it is not certain how long it will be available for. Overwatch 2 is currently in its Season 7 which is due to end on December 5 and the bundle will likely be gone before that.
Blizzard has shared plenty of information about Overwatch 2‘s future at BlizzCon 2023 during its Overwatch 2: What’s Next panel including new heroes and content. It was revealed that the game is getting a new tank hero, Mauga who will be coming to the game with Season 8, and the hero was also made available for players to try in-game for a limited time.
Overwatch 2 will also get a ton of new content with Battle Pass themes like Egyptian Mythology and a mirror universe and will see the return of Hanamura with the new Clash game mode that will be coming to the game soon. The first Clash mode map was also revealed which is based on Overwatch’s old Hanamura assault map and is called Hanaoka.
Other than Mauga, two new heroes were also revealed that are Damage hero Venture and a support hero codenamed Space Ranger who will be joining the game in Season 10 which will be released sometime in 2024. It was confirmed by the developers that Venture uses they/them pronouns which makes them the first non-binary hero in Overwatch 2.
Venture has a drill gun that helps them dig the battlefield and deal damage to the enemies as they rise. They join other heroes from LGBTQ+ in the game such as Lifeweaver who is pansexual and Tracer and Soldier: 76 who are gay. Pharah and Baptiste are also confirmed as lesbian and bisexual respectively. Venture will be coming to the game sometime in 2024 with the release of Season 10.
