Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is one of the most awaited games of the year with Rocksteady using the game to expand their Arkhamverse. Fan opinion is divided on the game with diehard fans of the Batman: Arkham series not at all happy with the game.

The early access for the game has been released and players have started playing the game with the 4 main characters of the game – Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark. During a Discord Q&A session, the developers promised plenty of Easter eggs for the fans to find in the game.

One such Easter egg somewhat refers to the popular gaming franchise Halo. While DCU Easter Eggs are supposed to be spotted in the game, the Halo Easter egg can be found within the first hour of gameplay, sparking much conversation among fans.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Opens to Brainiac’s Metropolis

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League gives fans ample training regarding the mechanics of the game before throwing them into the fray with the min-controlled Justice League. However, within the first hour of gameplay, gamers have already discovered a huge number of Easter eggs, with the most notable one being a subtle reference to Halo.

Soon after players complete the tutorial, Green Lantern kidnaps them and flies them across Metropolis whilst explaining the situation to them. After explaining Brainiac’s plans to the squad, Green Lantern makes one final sweep of the city before coming to a halt on a seemingly deserted road.

All of a sudden, a civilian on the road starts screaming and running away from something that is chasing him from the shadows. The poor soul is quickly outpaced as a four-legged alien creature latches onto his face and in a few seconds transforms him into a mutant. Green Lantern referred to the mutant as ‘metahuman’.

Halo Easter Egg Explained

Fans were quick to spot the eerie similarities between this creature called ‘Terminaut’ with the alien parasites that were first introduced in the Halo: Combat Evolved game. The alien species of the game was called ‘Flood’ and before traveling to meet them first-hand, Master Chief watches a video of some Marines who had previously encountered the parasitic alien species. This video is what fans believe Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is referring to.

In the video, Master Chief sees a Marine getting attacked by one of the Flood Carriers and shouting, “Get it out! Get it out!”. This feels awfully similar to fans to the scene with the civilian being transformed with his last human words being, “Get it off! Get it off!”.

While the fan-spotted Easter egg is making rounds on the internet, there has been no update on the part of Rocksteady whether this was intentional or not. But one this is certain, if this is any indication of how the rest of the game will be, fans can expect a lot more Easter eggs further on in the game as the developers have shown their scheduled content roster.

What has been your most notable Easter egg in the game? Do you think this is an intentional reference to Halo? Let us know your views in the comments.

I travel. I game. I write. In no strict order.

The single biggest lie told all around is, "It isn't that simple." It is simple, everything is. And that is what I emulate in my writing. No unnecessary jargons and no flamboyant flourish. Just what's needed to get your imagination going. After all mind has no limit, unlike the written word.
